I went to school today for the first time. Other than being filled with unknown faces, I think it was pretty great. I made a new friend!! Or at least I think she was a friend. She acts very strange, and never wants to say my name, Leena. She always hangs out with 2 other girls, who are pretty popular. The one who they consider the leader, is named Poppy. The other one is named Clara. And my 'real' friend is named Diana. Together, they have a trio. One day, Diana introduced me to Poppy and Clara. They seemed...sassy. Especially Poppy. I chose to not see the bad in them, but to see the good in them, if there is any good in them anyway. With a cheerful smile, I said, "Hello! My name is Leena!! It's really nice to meet you both!". They looked me up and down and Poppy finally said, "Hi...Leena. Um, if you wanna be in our group, you can't be named Leena. We'll call you Luna. And don't worry, no need to thank me.". Um, can I just say, rude! But I decided to stay with my cheerful attitude. So, I replied with, "Oh, thanks for the offer. But I like the name Leena, so I'll stay with that.". I know it wasn't an offer, but hey? They told me to change my name, what should I say? Clara said in a mad but calm voice, "Take it or lose it. You wanna join the group? Change your name. If we wanna stay popular, we can't have some street kid join our group with the name Leena!". Ouch, that hurt. But I said, "Fine.". It was worthless arguing with them. Then, I put my hand out, "Friends?". Poppy walked up with this weird smile, but said, "Friends." and shook my hand.
