It's the last day of school, and all day long Holly and Daphne have been giving me frightened expressions. I guess they said no to Voldemort. After everyone leaves to the Hogwarts express, I'm alone. I'm going home with my dad this Summer. No point in staying with Ms. Joan. As Dad clears out his office, I wander around Hogwarts humming and snapping my fingers, eating one of many Bertie Bott's every flavor beans. I crinkle my nose in disgust as I taste the earthworm one. So delightfully disgusting. I spit out the jellybean, hoping nobody notices when a voice startles me. "Hello Raven." I whip around but no one is there. The voice repeats itself, it seems to be coming from inside my head. "Raven. You know who I am." The voice sneers. And somehow, I do. I recognize this voice. "Hey Voldemort." I whisper. "You must do something I can't. Take your father to the astronomy tower. And then point your wand at him and say two simple words: Avada Kadavera." "That will k!ll him." I say, knowing that Voldemort already knows this. "Raven, you know and I know that this is for the best. You know this will fulfill the prophecy. You know it is what must be done." "Luna says that not all prophecies are meant to be fulfilled." "Luna? You mean that crazy little girl? Forget all about her, after this is done you won't need her, you will be able to do whatever you want, go where the wind takes you, it doesn't matter! All that matters is that this is over with." I nod my head and knock on the door to my father's office. "Come in Raven" He calls. "Actually Dad, maybe you could come out." A few seconds later Dumbledore is following me up to the astronomy tower, I told him there were some beautiful stars out tonight. He bought it. When we get to the top of the tower, Dumbledore agrees the stars are especially pretty tonight, and I raise my wand so it is level with his face. "Raven, what are you doing?" He asks. A puzzled but still knowing expression. I think he understands what is going on, but he doesn't want to admit it. "Avada," I begin, taking deep breaths. "Avada," "Raven, you can't do it. Don't let Voldemort get to you!" "Don't tell me what I can't do!" I scream. I take a deep breath. Ready to say the words that will put an end to all of this. "Raven." Tears are running down Dumbledore's cheek. "I'm so so so sorry. Stupefy!" He yells, and I freeze up. I don't understand why this is so bad until I realize two things. 1) I'm off balance, 2)I'm standing on the edge of a very tall astronomy tower. I tip over and I fall off the tower. Down down down. Until I hit the ground. All goes black. -END OF BOOK 1
