A quick project for 400+! Thank you so much everyone, that was so quick QwQ... Also, for once I didn't post after 2 months XD This is a QnA! You are free to ask me any question you like, as long as it's not too personal (like my age, address, etc!) Feel free to ask about my life, how I draw, etc :] I wasn't sure what to put in the project so I just put the process of one of my recent pieces of art- I usually don't share my art on scratch, maybe I should do it more often... 1. Sketch Fairly straightforward! My sketches tend to be very messy, I see alot of people with super clean sketches and I'm always confused how they do that... Here I mark out the main features very messily, haha 2. Lineart It's a very tedious process for me, especially with keeping the lines clean QwQ...Again, fairly straightforward! I just outline and clean up parts of the sketch :D 3. Flat colors I don't have much to say about this too, XD. I don't use the fill bucket tool in coloring as I tend to use textured brushes, and that makes it look really bad...so I usually use the selection tool! 4. Coloring lineart It's kind of tedious to do by hand, so a shortcut I like to use is to duplicate the color layer, blur it slightly so the blur covers the lineart as well, duplicate and merge it until the blurred ends become solid, then I make it darker and more saturated and clip it on to the lineart! Then I can go in and clean up some parts manually- I find this way to be quicker ^D^ In theory you could also change the lineart to a blending layer, but I don't like to use that as I don't have as much control over the colors :') 5. Airbrush shading I usually clip a layer of white over the colors so I can see the shading better! Here I airbrush shadows opposite of where the light is coming- the character is mostly blue, so I thought a warm color would look good as the shading color :] This looks kind of flat as of now, and I'll be fixing that in the next step XD 6. Refining the shading Using the eraser tool, I erase parts of the airbrush I already did! I find this way easier for me as if I just go in with a normal brush, it's easy for me to just get caught up in the details and the shading ends up looking flat QwQ 7. Adding further details Using the same "airbrush and erase" method, I shade the rest of the piece! 8. Coloring the shading When I turned off the white layer, the color of the shading ended up looking too muddy, so I changed it to a brighter pink! 9. Adding highlights and lighting Fairly simple, using the magic wand tool I selected the area that wasn't in shadow and put a light orange "soft light" layer on it, and added highlights too! 10. Final touches Adjusted the color balance and colored some of the shading more, and added my watermark! Done :] Credits!
