Last Updated: Friday, April 10, 2026 Version #: 1.5.0 Comments are always appreciated, especially card and feature ideas! Welcome to Card Game! The experience where you play as an intrepid adventurer who builds up a deck of spells to take on the forces of evil, and eventually defeat the monstrous Witchcrafter. Content: -30 levels -6 bosses -186+ cards -36 power cards -Dozens of enemies Goal: Defeat countless waves of enemies to reach and destroy the Witchcrafter! (She hasn't been added yet, but you can fight the Cursed Beast, Abyssal Hunter, Metaltaur, Thorn Beast, and Wraith Amalgam) Currencies: Mana: Each turn, your Mana refills to your Max Mana amount. You can spend this Mana to play certain cards on your turn. (A card's Mana cost is the number in the blue circle) You can upgrade your max Mana in the shop and with some other cards. Generally, Mana is spent on ordinary cards. Once per battle, you can use the "Aptitude" button, which gives you five free Mana (amount can be altered). Bones: You start every battle with zero Bones (can be altered), and you gain one Bone per enemy killed (can be altered). You can spend Bones to play certain cards on your turn. (A card's Bone cost is the number in the bone-colored circle) Some cards can help you gain more Bones. Generally, Bones are spent on powerful and deadly cards. Blood: Blood doubles as both your health and a currency. If it reaches zero, you die (not implemented yet). You can spend your Blood to use certain cards on your turn. (A card's Blood cost is written on it) Keep in mind that you only heal five Blood after a battle (By default, you can change this through the use of cards), and you cannot heal over your max Blood. Your max Blood can be upgraded in the shop. (You heal to full after boss battles) Action Points: After every battle, your Action Points are set to two by default (Some characters alter this, but this is explicitly stated). You can spend these to buy cards in the shop, which sells a variety of upgrades. In the shop, you can always view your current deck of cards. Battle: Your Turn: When your turn starts, you automatically discard your current cards and draw six more. During your turn, you can spend your resources to play cards, which list their individual effects. After a card is played, it is immediately shuffled back into the deck, which you can view at any time. (If a card has the word "Exhaust" in its effect text, it is discarded instead) At any point, you can press the Redraw button to redraw your hand, however this costs Mana equal to your current number of cards. When you are happy with your turn, you can press the pass button to allow the enemies to attack, and you to draw cards and regenerate Mana. Enemies: Each enemy attacks you by dealing damage and effects based on their next attack. This can be foreseen by scrolling over the icon over the enemy's head. Many cards can be used to deal damage or effects to enemies. Any damage an enemy takes is reduced by their defense value. (Scroll over an enemy to view its stats page, which explains all meaningful values, as well as lore and attacks) Some enemies have extra attributes; these are their meanings: Boss: Immune to some effects (The effect descriptions will elaborate on the specifics) Daring: Unaffected by Fear Thorny: When attacked, will counterattack for five damage immediately Enemy Effects: Some cards deal effects to enemies (Defense is ignored when dealing effect damage). The relevant player-inflicted effect and its function are listed when you scroll over a card with an effect. Some cards apply positive effects to you, and they also list their effect descriptions. If an enemy deals an effect to you, you will have to scroll over the icon to see what it does! You can't plan ahead for that one, you have to figure it out as you go. Defense: At the start of a battle, your defense is set to your Base Defense plus your Starting Defense. At the start of each turn after that, your defense is set only to your Base Defense. Any incoming damage is reduced by your defense number (excluding effect damage). All enemy attacks (excluding damage from effects) decrease your defense by the damage value, so you cannot spam defense and be invincible. Possible Upcoming Changes: Channeling clears your Mana A new area with a "Witchcrafter" boss An ending A death screen Actually dying when you run out of Blood
Notes: This game is not quite finished! There will be bugs and various balancing issues, I'm working to fix them. Also, some cards and enemies don't have sound effects, so they just play random placeholder noises, this will be fixed. Unfortunately, due to the limitations of Scratch, this project can be borderline unplayable in Scratch and also takes forever to load (Depending on the strength or your computer). I heavily recommend using Turbowarp instead (At least do not play it while inside the project code, that really tanks its performance): https://turbowarp.org/1201463875 Credits: Credit to various artists on Pixabay for music and sound effects.
