A basic engine for tile-based maps, which is planned to be used for the grifftopia RPG. Mess around with the generation inside the code if you want. We could just hard-code the map in the final game to save space I guess. Ignore the 4 empty rows of pixels in the top and bottom of the screen. Map rendering is a bit slow as of now, but hopefully I can fix it. Music by me. -Plot (by me and @29derosj)- Griffpatch, a seemingly regular Scratcher, was born in the Plains. He was, well - way smarter than most Scratchers. Strangely enough, he was also born with an Orb. This intelligence led to a spike in popularity amongst the people he lived with. Then, griffpatch had decided to build a grand village, where people could be free, where people could socialize. This, was grifftopia. Only a few days later grifftopia had expanded from this desolate place, to a bustling village. The citizens there are diverse, coming from all corners of the globe. At the center of it all was griffpatch, a shining beacon of hope not just in the plains, but the continent. There were ones who were relaxing, perhaps taking a break from the neighboring places. Some were, crazy, to say the least… Some even saw opportunities to try and market their products. And some grew jealous of griffpatch and his topia. Three years ago, Suspatch, griffpatch's young cousin comes to grifftopia and spams, ads, and follow begs. He is harshly warned by @BlueAnimates8240, which leads to him hating grifftopia. He eventually forms a cult known as The Spammers. While The Spammers just want The Orb to rule the world, Suspatch just wanted to destroy grifftopia. Fast forward 3 years, grifftopia is thriving thanks to the magical powers of griffpatch's Orb, but one day, a cult known as "The Spammers" appears. They attack grifftopia, but the griffpatchers manage to make them retreat. They find out that The Spammers attacked grifftopia to try to steal The Orb. The griffpatchers then prepare for war as they set up weapon/armor shops and other classic RPG tropey stores. (This is where the game actually starts, the lore can just be implied in-game through dialogue.) About a month later, a new griffpatcher (the player) moves to grifftopia. The player has no memories of his past, only that he is "The Chosen One". He also doesn't speak. After noticing how grifftopia is preparing for war, he realizes what he must do and goes on a quest to save grifftopia (and the world). (insert random quests here) Eventually, after The Spammers attack again and leave grifftopia in a wrecked state, the griffpatchers realize that the only way to end the war is to destroy The Orb themselves. Later on, after collecting an item (TBA) in a dungeon, the player convinces into opening the sealed door to The Orb. He drains all of his energy doing so. After opening the door, the player finds Suspatch already in possession of The Orb. The player manages to defeat Suspatch, which destroyed The Orb too. Grifftopia is unable to sustain itself without The Orb, leading it to vanish. The surviving griffpatchers, now without a home, wondered if their victory was really worth the price to pay. The game ends with griffpatch and the griffpatchers slowly rebuilding grifftopia, with one even trying to create another copy of The Orb, foreshadowing a potential sequel.
