[ x ] 1 - really pixelated (everything I upload to Scratch is) drawings of Cherry, Carmine, and Ruby :) Still not entirely sure on Carmine's design since I really liked Mink's ideas too... also IGNORE HOW AWFUL RUBY LOOKS im working on making it better </3 I'm not used to drawing poc but I want to learn 2 - Mmmm pixels. Amber loves 'em. I stole her glasses and gave them to Autumn, other than that nothing has changed about her lol 3 & 4 - Akari!!!!! I love her 5 - Was tryna make sure my characters are diverse bc I have same everything syndrome with characters, got bored throughout and drew some of them 6 - Autumn with even more frizzy hair bc you can never have enough 7 - laid out all of the character's basic designs, mainly to compare hairstyles and make sure there wasn't too much repitition 8 - I made a new friend for Daisy!! Got super interested in lolita fasion and wanted to make a design with it :) 9 - had the greatest ship idea known to man [ x ]
[ x ] Contents: - General Update & Thoughts - Further Ramblings About htbh [ x ] Hey! Figured you guys deserve a proper update on this project since I just sorta stopped doing anything related to it. The insane amount of support I recieved for a random idea I had one day was absolutely insane. I posted it so early on in the process because I assumed my tiny little account (at the time I think I only had around 20 followers) wouldn't get much attention, and that the auditions project would be able to run for a couple months before I had gathered enough people for a quality cast. Over 100 auditions putting me on the front page for remixes was, quite honestly, the last thing I expected. I'm still super grateful to every single person who auditioned for helping with that, it was the coolest thing ever to be able to do what ten year-old me dreamed about. But I was so focused on casting, I... I didn't really prepare anything. I wrote a trailer script and got through some of the animation from it, I wrote an interview script for Cherry, and. That's it. That's all I could get to. I tried to search for inspiration in the writing team, but because I wasn't super great with directing them, there wasn't ever any activity there. I lost motivation, and eventually moved on. To evade the messages asking me about progress on the series (all in very kind ways, mind you--no one here has ever purposefully pressured me), I sorta just disappeared. And then, right before school started up again this year, the craziest thing happened. I drew Cherry Vermella. For the first time in almost a year, I revisited this universe. And then eeeeeverything came back. I looked over the old characters I'd made on a whim to have a larger cast, characters I hadn't even designed yet, characters with the most 2d boring personalities known to man, and I finally started thinking about them. Working on designs, finding unique interests for them, looking into different patterns of thought for them. It's gonna take a lot longer than I thought, but I think I'm gonna try to make it real. With 7 characters all owning their own chapters and side stories, it's gonna be long and convoluted, so it's gonna take a person like me an eternity to create. But I'm gonna try! This time, I'll only start looking for voices once I'm in the final stages of production. I'll also probably be posting the auditions on CastingCallClub, since that has a wider variety of voice types (and I can maybe offer payment through there...). You all are still welcome to audition, though! I've already started on a list of people who I promised to let know once auditions are posted :) [ x ] I'VE HAD SO MANY IDEAS OMGGGG okok for one, I've always liked the idea of Cherry and Cobalt being exes. But I recently thought of how I could make things suuuuper complicated because Cobalt is the only person Cherry's ranted to about how uncomfortable Carmine makes her feel at times (like, bawling her eyes out while doing so). And Cobalt doesn't like her, but he's not a monster. So he still steps in whenever Carmine starts to break boundaries. I feel like this could be a really cool way for Prism to meet Cobalt, and it would show a lot of his character as a very loyal person. My mom gave me an amazing idea for Daisy. The original concept was always that her parents were neglectful and so she never got raised, which was why she acts/thinks/dresses in a childish manner. But my beloved mother propsed the idea of a parent babying her all the time; not wanting to let her little baby go. Essentially forcing her into the role of remaining a child. And because that is infinitely worse I beleive that it shall be canon. Cobalts friends are cooler now. They all got new names. Maya is Nilu, Douglas is Dylan, and Robin is Jay. They're a lot more blue-related now lol. They also have motifs relating to blue! Nilu has the sky & stars, Dylan has the ocean, and Jay has winter. Still working on their personalities and such buuut I do think that Nilu and Autumn would be friends! They have little weekly study sessions together :) I'm very excited for the development of this! It's been fun to draft up so far :D [ x ]
