Episode 16: “The Punchline” ⸻ FADE IN: EXT. ETHEREAL ISLAND – PRE-DAWN The Ethereal Tower stretches into the clouds — warped by time, glowing with unstable Void energy. Storm clouds churn above it. A haunting silence surrounds the base. BUZZINGA and POWEK stand at the edge of the battlefield, staring up. BUZZINGA (whispers): He’s really doing it. Alone. POWEK (grave): He’s not alone. Not after all we’ve lost. ⸻ INT. ETHEREAL TOWER – STAIRCASE – DAWN HYEHEHE ascends the spiral steps. Every footstep echoes with distant laughter — his own. Carvings on the walls flicker. One glows brighter than the rest: A single mask, cracked down the center. ⸻ EXT. SUMMIT OF THE ETHEREAL TOWER – DAWN The storm breaks open around the tower’s peak. Void lightning coils in the sky. The wind howls. BEMEEBETH stands at the summit, facing the horizon, knife already in hand. HYEHEHE steps onto the stone platform behind her. BEMEEBETH (without turning): You climbed a long way just to fall. HYEHEHE: We both did. She turns slowly. The two stare each other down. BEMEEBETH: You’re half a soul. A shard that should have stayed broken. HYEHEHE: Then why are you afraid of the pieces? They circle. Tension thick. Each draws a blade. ⸻ BUZZINGA (choked): The war is won… But only me and Powek remain. BUZZINGA: Hyehehe is still alive so I guess it’s ok Behind him — the Ethereal Tower begins to shake. Buzzinga looks up. It collapses in on itself, a pillar of Void-light erupting skyward. BOOM. The tower is gone. ⸻ FADE TO BLACK. THE END
