hi im p.ai.nter the c.la.nker telling you how to make paws... uh you need... 1/2-1 yd of fur (ish...in total. depends on how big your paws are gonna be) as many clips and pins as you can buy ☝️ pattern 1/4-1/2 yd of minky (pawpad color) 1/2-1 yd of lycra/spandex (depending on how stretchy you want it. there are eco friendly alternatives, and i strongly urge you to TRY to use them. or just don't line the paws) sewing needles, thread the color of your fur fabric chalk for dark fur bias tape matching your fur
so usually, your pattern will have instructions on it. i am too idiotic to make my own... but i can give some advice on what to do (NOTE THIS APPLIES TO PUFFY PAWS) 1. cut out all the pattern pieces. 2. lay out your fur and lycra (if using.) mark the direction of the fur on the back. 3. trace the pattern pieces onto the fur, the pattern should tell you what to trace on what fur how many times. 4. cut out the fur. hold your scissors at an angle facing AWAY from the edge of the pattern. make sure to leave a seam allowance! 5.sort the fur into left hand and right hand, and place the parts where they will go (roughly) 6. begin sewing the pattern as instructed. sew one hand at a time, and pins/clips are your best friend here. if adding claws, make sure to sew them TIGHT to the dart. if not just sew straight through the dart to close it. here i recommend handsewing if you aren't a great machine sewer (if you even have one) 7. sew the lining into the paws as instructed. puff them as instructed. try to sew the lining to the fingers well so no fluff escapes. 8. take your bias tape and add a cuff! fold it over the edge and handstitch it (it can be machine stitched but its a small seam)
