There's been a lot of talk about Scratch 4.0 and AI recently. I thought I would build on @mrsrec's project to help clear up any confusion or concerns regarding AI. Press space, use the arrow keys, or swipe (on mobile) to move through the slides. I recommend viewing in fullscreen because some text is smaller, and the image quality isn't great. Here are links to posts I referenced in the project: - Blog post about generative AI in Scratch Lab by @ericr: https://medium.com/scratchteam-blog/inside-scratch-lab-ai-image-generation-179f11bd921a - Article about generative AI by @mres: https://mres.medium.com/ai-and-creative-learning-concerns-opportunities-and-choices-63b27f16d4d0 - Blog post about the Creative Learning Assistant: https://medium.com/scratchteam-blog/coming-soon-your-creative-learning-assistant-7a28d184182c - The link to the job post listing is not allowed to be shared on Scratch due to the potential of revealing personal information. Here is a topic on 4.0, in case you want to find more info and see others’ discussion: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/824561/
Update! The recording of the Scratch + AI session has been released publicly and can be viewed here: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/youtube/tGwu-7jTeaY/ Here is a text-only version of this project (plus the image quality is slightly better): https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/834371/ Please note: all the images and content in this project may be different from what's actually released. Thanks to for the inspiration and the original project! Check it out here: All the screenshots were from the Scratch Conference 2025 "Scratch + AI" session; I did not attend the Conference but someone I know did and was willing to share the replays on the Conference site (the Scratch Team confirmed it was okay to do so). Code: Thanks to for the gb-slideshow. Music: Buddy from bensound (the song is a bit more cheery than I intended, but oh well...)
