Here is the text engine component for WOTC (the Zelda fan game I'm working on right now) Trailer here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1187209460 Anyways I finished the text engine a while ago but I'm just sharing it now as a form of an update on the development progress on WOTC, I've built up a fair amount of hype for the game and there are a few people getting impatient, while there are plenty of people who are awesome and supportive of this enormous project (who I really appreciate), there are others who ask me to, quote: "make it now." And as simple as that sounds, there is a lot of work that needs to go into this game in order for me to just release the darn thing already. The work I have already done includes: This text engine, a simple single image scrolling system (soon to be replaced with a much more dynamic tile based scrolling system), a collision system, smooth movement, sword slashing, enemies (in the works), a few NPCs (two of them shown here, an inventory system/main menu (in the works), and I'm almost done with the cuccos' behavioral system. All that would be enough work to complete on its own, but I also plan on including 10 full length cutscenes, 5 dungeons (each complete with a boss), and an entire freaking storyline. So, please try to understand how hard this thing is to make for one 8th grader who has a lot of other things to do.
