punch his stomach 3 times to make his taunt come up faster, then punch his stomach once to make his hook come up faster, then throw the star into the hook. repeat for phase 2, then just counter his bear hug and throw a star into his punch right after, make sure its before he flashes red but not too early or you'll either miss or do base star damage.
