Of the hundreds of billions of Xylox that spread their vile mutation across the stars, only five ever grew into Zylonix. Their names were Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon. Alpha, Beta and Gamma were killed by the humans, but not before taking tens of thousands of lives each. Delta travelled through space, taking a single Xeno with it, to the planet Oramarceous, where it started a second major Xylox infestation. It lived there for 30 years before finally being killed by Erik Stragos in Extraterrestrial III: Across the Cubiverse. But there was one more, one far more intelligent and powerful, called Epsilon. It grew and evolved in ways never seen before in the Xylox, thinking in much more strategic and malevolent ways. It sought not to appease the Xylox Hivemind like the rest, but craved conquest and personal dominion. It betrayed the Xylox, and was severed from the Hivemind. It spent decades in the void of space, conquering all worlds it could find, and hunting for the mythical and extraordinarily powerful Sentinel Crystals, relics of the Sentinels, a long-extinct race of godlike beings. Over time, it acquired many battle scars and horrific deformities, though its search for Sentinel Crystals was not in vain, and within 30 years it had collected seven. Enough to make it near immortal. Further Context: The Xylox life cycle starts with a Xeno, a small alien with little abilities, which after 1 month evolves into a Xyloxian, bigger with more eyes and limbs, and in 2 months, a Tyrannox, biggest of all with grotesque deformities and eyes everywhere. Then, after 3 months, the Tyrannox will split, dying and birthing 5 new Xenos, starting the life cycle anew. But there's an exception. A Zylonix is born as a Xeno, but with a rare mutation that prevents it from splitting. The result is a Tyrannox that is constantly getting stronger and stronger, with no end in sight. After 4 months, Zylonix become able to hone their growth and evolve into forms of their choice. To grow this powerful, Zylonix must consume incredible amounts of nutrients, which makes them the most violent and aggressive Xylox of all.
Credits to for designing the Xylox in Beyond the Uprising. I came up with the idea for the Zylonix.
