Hey been a bit I'm distancing myself a bit more lol I'm not planning to post that much now- like probably an art dump or two and then I'm pretty much out haha I'm unsharing a bunch of my projects too- ;w; gosh it's gonna be hard to part with this place BUT ANYWAYS enjoy some redraws it feels so weird to be posting on here suddenly after like- a month- and while I'm unsharing all my projects too lol So since it is five years since 2020 (what the actual), I decided it might be fun to do some more redraws again ;') I had much more to choose from this time too lol I had plans to only do 2020 but…th-they're all cats ALL CATS and I COULD'VE made them human buuuut like- there's reasons I'll get into real quick lol I decided to do one from each year, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 (I technically did two from 2022 because I couldn't choose shut up). And I had such a hard time choosing from 2020 and 2021 because…the pieces genuinely felt boring to me? Like they were all the same thing, just a character striking a pose with an expression and sure I diversified the poses, but even those got repeated lol. And besides Cleo wasn't in there so it was extra boring /hj so that's why I decided to do 5 all the way down to 1 year improvements X'D 1-4. Because I couldn't find any new ones from 2020 that I wanted to redraw, I decided to do a redraw that's already been redone and give it more s w a g so here we are B) super super proud of how this came out- the character is Moonsong and belongs to @Moonwatcher07; the original piece was done Aug.13.2020, the redrawn 2022 piece approximately around Jul.31.2022 and the final redraw was Jul.26.2025 B) 5-7. this one in 2021 stuck out to me a bunch and I decided since I was struggling with drawing a wolf that actually looks like a wolf (*coughs at my 2022 self who was drawing wolves that looked almost no different from the cats*), I redrew these two! this was a DTAE and we never got the results ;w; this was for the Zodiac DTA hosted by @Altalune- and this is for Gemini (kinda obvious) (the design is also from @Altalune- lol), their names were Phailus (left) and Jindayon (right). And I saw that line in their backstory and I was like "wait that's actually kinda sick" the rest of their backstory was pretty eh but THAT line for some reason just…*chefs kiss* The original piece was done sometime in August 2021, and the redrawn piece was done Jul.27.2025 B) 8-9. ALSO had such a hard time deciding X'D this one IS kinda special, but I thought it might be a good challenge- John's Forest yayyy tried to make it eeeextra pretty lol original piece was done sometime in mid Jul 2022, and the redrawn piece was done Aug.3.2025 B) 10-11. (quality kinda was destroyed on this one hA) This is not a very memorable piece, but it's one that I found and that I thought would be interesting to redraw ;") it was…surprisingly easy X'D I knew exactly what I was going for and how I was gonna achieve it, and with that in mind I just took off- original was draw probably around…late Jun 2022, redraw was Aug.5.2025 B) also it's not technically a Nico theme song haha- but it could absolutely be a villain Nico AU theme song B) 12-13. There were actually a lot of good pieces in 2023, and some of them even scared me so I didn't want to do those again X'D so I picked this one because we needed a happy guy for a change ;w; oh gosh Flint's old design- *gags* original was like around mid April 2023 and redraw was Aug.6.2025 B) 13-14. 2024 was hard to choose from because…most of the pieces were pretty good… :') but I eventually decided on this one because I like challenging myself hAHAHA this actually…wasn't too challenging lol. Despite the piece being pretty intimidating, the moment I sat down to draw it I looked at it and I was like "…yeah I can make this better" it's Dustin—excited for the last season B))) something is really bugging me about his face though- but when I take off the rendering git looks fine like what the original piece was done approximately Jul.10.2024, redrawn piece Aug.10.2025 hehe So I mean if I'M analyzing myself, I think I improved in…everything really X'D but the most substantial thing I think I've improved in is richness and choice of colours, anatomy (for some), expressions, and in general making a piece more interesting to look at? At least I think they're interesting haha. Oh and lighting I think :") most of these feature characters that are either distressed or just neutral …oops?
