Or CIAMV, if you will (You can press the spacebar to change the speed of the animation, but below 100% the music timing completely messes up) OK, obviously this is crazy, me posting the project that I have hinted at for like a YEAR? Yeah, I have got a lot of explaining to do. To make it easier to understand, I'll break it up into parts IDEA & BEGINNING: I started this project a little less than a year ago which is NUTS. It began as sort of as my style transition, where I wanted to try a bit of a @Wayurm style animation. I eventually had a whole story tied to this animation that I thought of listening to this song. You can find little tidbits of it in the animation frames, but not the entire thing. I knew that I wanted to turn this into a big project, and I had the motivation to do so. LORE: (animation spoilers) A dude was taken by the government because he saw a glimpse of an in-progress project that the government was working on. This was known as The C.1.A, (Computer 1 Augmentation). However, the means by which he is punished for seeing this project is by using this project on him. He is put into a large room, with nothing but a large screen. As the C.1.A activates, the process starts. (1.8 sec) He is analyzed and scanned to find his weaknesses and fears (3.675), and eventually, the manipulation process starts. The goal of the C.1.A is to alter the thoughts of a person, getting them to see images and events that aren't real. He sees a red door (9.5 sec), a memory from his past that evokes fear in him. And now, in his most vulnerable state, it is time to strike. He is chased by a massive computer machine (12.7 sec), ready to remove him of his own thoughts. Terrified and empty, he tries to run away (16 sec), knowing the truth behind this government project. But I was already too late. The manipulation process is complete, and he is "under the spell" (lel) of the C.1.A. CREATION PROCESS: My idea of creating a Wayurm-style animation quickly dissipated as I found my own groove and things I liked. This happened at around 4 seconds of animation time. For a good while, my motivation was really strong. I was able to get a good measure of the song animating done every day. I was also proud of the amount of improvement that happened between each day of animating, especially towards the 10-second mark with the 3d and interesting graphics, and probably one of my best impact frames to date. BURNOUT: While me figuring out what I liked in this animation was a good thing, it also massively fueled burnout on this project. I was so fixated on trying to see if it could match up to the standards I built that I animated almost every object from background to UI. Also, animating 2 parts of a song that sound similar with the same lyrics was also a bad idea since I animating the same lyrics twice over is not mentally easy. TAKEAWAYS: Overall, it's just a classic case of trying to bite off more than I could chew, trying to set standards way too high for myself. If you are going to animate something of high scale, please set the correct standards for yourself, choose a part of the song that is appropriate and enjoyable, and make sure you can mentally handle it. __________________________________________ So that's it. After a year, it's finally posted. This is such a prolonged project that I feel like I should say more, but I dont really need to lol. Sorry for the crazy delay, and I hope you like it!
