First - https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1203225655 Next - None yet I sit up straight in my nest, blinking the sleep out of my eyes. I look up at the moonlight breaking through the nursery ceiling. In the corner of my eye I see my normally gray mother, now silver from the moon. Stray pieces of moss tickle my nose as I lay back down. I shiver from some night breeze creeping in. I scoot closer to my mother, Shadebreeze, only to be turned away by her thick fur, which keeps her warmth from reaching me. It's not like she cares if I make it through the night, either. I would try and sneak next to Nightclover for warmth, but her newborns would make too much noise. I also don't have my father. And if I did, he cares about me as much as my mother does. I sigh, waiting for Mudslide to come and check on me. Mudslide comes and visits me every night when the moon is in the center of the sky. I don't see her at day though, she said it's cause she doesn't like to be out when it's bright. As if I summoned her with my mind, her flowery scent fills the nursery. I sit up and look back towards the entrance, spotting her familiar brown pelt. Her blue eyes reflect the little light there is, and I see in her jaws she carries a small mouse. "Love? I'm here." She speaks softly with an accent my clanmates don't speak. "I'm awake!" I whisper and stand up, walking to her. We walk outside of the den, where she sits down. I slip underneath her front paw and snuggle close to her, her warmth spreading throughout my body. She drops the mouse in front of me and wraps her tail around me, her brown fur blending in with my black. I eat it in 3 bites, finishing with a nod of gratitude to Mudslide. She says nothing and we look up at the stars and moon together for the rest of the night. After a while, she stands up and I follow her back to my nest. She glares at my mother for a second before grooming me to sleep.
