Ꮺ Here's my entry for cutecore! ˖°❀Name: Cecil ˖°❀Gender Female ˖°❀What I'd use her for Either a story or a game, probably. Maybe a rp character? ;3 ˖°❀ Backstory: Cecil's earliest memories are of the alleys: dark, cold, brutal. She foggily remembers a warm figure all dressed in pink picking her up, smiling with bright white teeth, taking her away from the loathsome place. That figure was Penelope Knoles, the teenage daughter of the rich & famous politician Harry Knoles. From the moment she was born, Penelope was always in pink. Pink shirts, pink pants, pink shoes, pink eyeshadow! Whatever could be pink, was pink. (except hair- she tried dying it once, and it did not go well.) Her father could cover the costs for all the extravagant pink things, and always would. He spoiled her, since she was all he had. Penelope's mom had died shortly after Penelope had been born. The one thing Penelope was never able to get was a pet. A cat, specifically. Her dad hated pets. She begged and cried and pleaded, but he never gave in. At last, Penelope decided that she had to take this into her own hands. When she went on one of her bi-weekly shopping runs, she took an extra detour. The poorer parts of town had so many stray cats, and Penelope was certain she could find the perfect kitten there. She roamed around, but was surprised to find only dirty, ugly cats. She was disgusted. 'Well,' She thought, 'I suppose I could stop by the pet store... but they never have -' Right then, she glanced down an alleyway, and saw a sight that broke her heart. Two kittens were gathered round a frail cat, that must've been their mother. The kittens must've been less than a month old, and it didn't seem like they would last much longer out in the cold. They shivered and mewed at their mother, who wasn't moving. Penelope cautiously moved closer, a new emotion rushing over her. She slowly crouched down next to the cats, not wanting to scare them. The kittens didn't notice; they couldn't even see yet. They just kept on meowing. Penelope examined the kittens. One was a deep grey, with lighter speckles across its face and tail. One paw was that same light color. The other kitten had longer fur, but was pure grey. The mother was right in between, with deep grey fur, and no speckles. It had been a cold winter so far, and the cats had definitely been affected. The mother was very frostbitten just about everywhere, but had protected her kittens from the worst of it. They were just frostbitten on their feet. Tears welled in Penelope's eyes. These cats needed help. And quick. She scooped them up tenderly, smiling at them, assuring them it would be okay. They were so frail, even carrying all three at once was like carrying nothing. Penelope hurried through the town, searching desperately for a vet. While she was searching, a lady stopped her, offering to help. Grateful, Penelope followed the lady to her home. The lady was a stay-at-home vet, who treated the cats for a month, working hard to help them recover from frostbite and malnutrition. Penelope was there all the time, checking in on them. She took a special liking to the light gray kitten, a female. When at last the cats were fully treated, the vet said that Penelope could take them, if she wanted. Penelope rejoiced at the thought. A pet! At last! But her joys were doused as she remembered her father's strict policy on pets. There was no way he would let Penelope keep them. Sadly, she returned home from the visit, without any pet to be seen. At dinner that night, her father asked why she was so downcast. Penelope explained how she desperately wanted the cats. Her father's expression hardened. In another effort, she explained the situation the cats had been in, and how she’d noticed them and gotten them the help they needed. When Penelope described how frail and hurt the cats had been, something in her father's demeanor changed, as if he was remembering something... or someone. Miraculously, he agreed to let Penelope keep exactly one kitten. Penelope bounded right out of the dining room, heading straight back to the lady's house. Upon arrival, the lady informed Penelope that the mother and the dappled kitten had been adopted, but the light grey kitten was still left, since her paws were permanently injured and sensitive due to frostbite. Penelope didn't care. She would do whatever it took for that kitten. In fact, she had just the idea. Penelope carefully removed the extra socks she always had on hand (pink, of course!) and carefully put them on the delicate kitten's paws. The kitten stared at her with ice blue eyes, which mirrored Penelope's own. Penelope picked her up, carrying her out of the lady's house and into a new life. ˖°˖❀˖°˖❀˖°˖❀˖°˖❀˖°˖❀˖°˖❀˖°˖❀˖°˖❀˖°˖❀˖°˖❀˖°˖❀˖°˖❀ Sorry that was so long! ^^
