The river enveloped Kasey the second she fell in, attacking her from all sides and sweeping her away from Greysmouth. From Jordin. Ice cold water rushed to fill her lungs, blinding and tossing her from side to side. Kasey gasped, choked on water, and started panicking, thrashing her arms around to try to grab something- anything. Finally, her fingers found dirt, and she hauled herself up onto the riverbank. Coughing water, she looked around at her surroundings. Trees, trees, and more trees. She couldn't tell how far the river had taken her, couldn't even tell which way Greysmouth was. Kasey pulled out her phone- it had been ruined by the water. Sighing, she out it back in her pocket, flopping onto the cold dirt. On her back, Kasey could see the sky peeking out through the canopy of leaves. She sighed, sat up, and shook herself to get rid of some of the water that was soaked right through her clothes. Clambering to her feet, she looked up again, trying to catch a glimpse of the sun. No sign of it. A gust of wind blew through her clothes, making her shiver.
