And that was her patience. So of course she went out that night when Joel specifically told her not to. She was bored and impatient. And Joel probably didn't want her to go out because it was very likely to be super fun. And Joel was boring and dull and full of himself. Joel did not want to see Pearl tonight. He needed some alone time. Especially because it was the full moon. Wolves. There were wolves everywhere. Maybe that was why Joel wanted her to stay home. Maybe... The wolf growled at her and Pearl did the instinctive thing. She hit it with a stick hard. The wolf backed away slightly giving Pearl enough time to come to her senses. And also hit it with the stick harder. Another wolf approached but instead of doing anything to hurt her, it gave the other one a look as if telling it to back off. The other wolf backed off. Pearl didn't remember falling asleep. She did remember waking up and seeing Etho. "Come on, let's get you home safely before your parents worry." "Excuse me, I don't need your help-" "I owe Joel a favor and he might not like you much but I don't think he wants to see you d3@d in a forest because you were k!lled by wolves." A small whimper caught Pearl's attention and before Etho could stop her Pearl ran towards it. A wolf pup. It was small, white and trembling. "Etho, look." "It must've been abandoned. We should leave it." "No." Pearl knelt down, "Hello? Can you hear me? My name's Pearl. I'm not going to hurt you." The wolf pup slowly uncurled from the small fluffy ball it had been in. "Pearl we should-" "No." "You look hungry, do you want to come with me?" She held out her hand the the pup hesitantly licked it. "You need a name... How about... Tilly?" The pup's tail wagged at that. "You like that huh? Well me and Etho are going home and you can come too." Pearl picked Tilly up and she snuggled against her. Pearl smiled... "Which way's home?" "You- Ypu have a wolf-" "Which way's home?" Etho sighed. "Follow me."
