Ever wondered what happened to scratch cat after you deleted him? Ever wondered if sprites feel - or what they feel? This short animation that I made should clear it up. and, after wachting this- you might want to include scratch cat in one of your projects.... ~STORY:~ Scratch Cat used to be everywhere. He was the face of Scratch, the first sprite in every new project. Kids would drag him across the screen, make him meow, dance, and fly. He was the hero of countless games, the star of animations, the mascot of creativity. But times changed. New sprites arrived—cooler, flashier, more customizable. Giga had flair. Tera had style. Even the humble Button2 got more screen time. Scratch Cat started getting deleted. Not out of malice, just... forgotten. Replaced. And behind the scenes, where no coder ever looks, there’s a hidden place: Sprite City. A glowing metropolis built from discarded dreams and deleted sprites. Button2 runs a diner. Pico teaches pixel art. The old dragon from 2007 plays jazz in a smoky lounge. Scratch Cat lives in a modest apartment above the “Ctrl+Z Café.” He watches the new projects flicker in the sky like stars, each one a world he might’ve been part of. Yet every day, he walks to the edge of Sprite City, where the portal to the Scratch Editor glows faintly. He steps through, hoping this time he won’t be deleted. Maybe this time, someone will keep him. Maybe he’ll be the hero again. Sometimes he gets to stay. Sometimes he’s part of a game, even if just for a moment. And when he’s deleted again, he smiles, walks back to Sprite City, and tries again. Hoping once more.
