Tldr comment women in media for my stardew goats i'm in a playthrough of stardew valley right now. I've been naming my animals after women and androgynous characters from shakespeare plays. I currently have four cows and four chickens with names from midsummer and much ado. I'm planning to buy four goats. I realized i have not read any other shakespeare plays with four prominent women in the cast. I googled it and there's just very few shakespeare plays with four or more women. I'm incidentally not counting "lady capulet" and "lady montague" and the sort because those are entirely derived from their husbands' names! This is a problem and I am frankly disappointed. Comment names and i'll use them for my goats! Preferably women from popular media or classical literature that is not shakespeare Anyways we need more women in media. I'm not the best sample because i've been reading classical literature for most of my life but we need more women! The only reason i find men fun to read about is the sheer lack of women in classical literature! There's actually quite a few women in les mis unabridged but if you look at the musical sans ensemble i can really only count cosette, fantine, eponine, and mme thenardier? I don't think azelma shows up and i can't really remember any other named characters. I have mixed feelings about mme in the musical.
Emily stardew! #herewestanhermia oberon is a creep, actually. Also pls talk to me about much ado about nothing! I wrote a 6 page essay about it for school and it got graded worse than most of my other essays and i still feel a puerile urge to express myself regarding the main cast's fluid perceptions of masculinity!
