This is DELVE, a cave generator that I coded as a test for a game! I plan to add more features like aquifers, more ores, and customizable generation. Update log-- 8/6/25 4:41 AM: Added granite. ------------------HOW DOES DELVE WORK?---------------- DELVE generates caves using a system called cellular automata. It starts off with a random set of tiles (60 x 45, by the way!) and applies rules to make an iteration. The rules, in simple English, are: If a cell is a passage (black) and is surrounded by 4 other passages, it stays a passage. If a cell is a wall (anything that isn't black EXCEPT lava) and 5 of its neighbors are passages, then it becomes a passage, ELSE it becomes a wall. ----ORES---- There's a 1/60 chance for a ore to spawn but a 1/10 chance for a ore to spawn touching other ores. ----LAVA--- Lava spawns below cell 301-ish and can not be replaced (I think, I kinda just through stuff at the wall and hoped it worked with this one)
