Brace yourself for one of the weirdest comic strips in history, even by today's standards.
George Herriman originally created the comic strip "The Family Upstairs," which revolved around the comical quarrels of a couple while a cat and mouse wreaked havoc downstairs. So much attention was given to that cat and mouse, however, that it eventually evolved into "Krazy Kat." Syndicated between 1913-1944, this comic strip was made during the golden age of comics. The strip was so unique and awkward, no-one could be found as a legitimate successor to Herriman. As such, its preserved quality gained it much prestige.
