Hello! I'm Ruby. While I'm not new to roleplay as a whole, I am new to Scratch roleplay. Not sure what else to say other than I love Warrior cats and also these kit designs! Character you're applying for: [ Sunkit ] Personality of the character [ POS: Empathetic, Playful, Energetic.] [ NEU: Rigid, Excitable, Observant. ] [ NEG: Indecisive, Hasty, Repressed ] ( Sunkit is not a very loud or talkative kit, but that doesn't mean she's not an active one. She enjoys playing games by herself, walking around to explore, or collecting items to keep for herself. While she's generally awkward with other kits, she does care for other cats around her, her mood often greatly worsens when she realizes someone else feels bad. She's a rather strict rule-follower, especially for rules and routines she's set for herself. She's also rather observant, at least in her surroundings. She'll quickly notice a change in someone's appearance, or in the space around her. She isn't very open with her own emotions; whether it's out of simply misunderstanding her own thoughts and feelings, or because she's prioritizing someone else’s feelings. She has this idea that feeling negative emotions just makes her bad, so she’ll lie and hide them. At the same time, she has a problem understanding other people’s emotions, so she’ll often be quick to assume the negative, even if she’s totally wrong. She’s also poor at making decisions- when she feels pressured, she may panic or try to run from the situation entirely. ) Why do you want this kit? [ Sunkit has my favorite design from the litter. Also, she has autism like I do irl! I like writing characters with disabilities I have. I also love the celestial theming with these kits! ] Gender (May be in future) [ As a kit, Sunkit will remain a she-cat, content with she/her pronouns. They'll question their gender around their early apprenticeship, using they/them pronouns. During their late apprenticeship, they'll realize they're Pangender, using she/it/they/shine. ] Future Sexuality [ Around their mid-apprentice age, Sun will realize they're omni-sapphic, meaning they'll feel attraction towards all genders, but more towards she-cats or female-aligned cats. ] Any Disabilities/Disorders? Must be researched as outlined in Rule 10! [ Autism and APD, both of which I have! The research will be in the N+C. ] Any Extra Information about the character? [ - Her voice claim is Frida from Hilda - I feel like she’d love reptiles and bugs. Probably because I also do. - She keeps smooth rocks and sticks around roll under her paws or claw at, sort of like stim toys! - Probably uses the nicknames: Sunny, Sun, Sunshine, and Sunbeam. But mostly just with friends/family ] Any past gens characters? (just out of curiosity, new role-players are totally welcome!) [ Nope! Very new to this roleplay as a whole ] Roleplay example [ Will be in comments! ] Codeword (hidden in a sentence) [ I adore baobab trees, they’re so fun to look at and I hope I get to see them in person one day!!! ] Average activity level (1-10) [ around 6 on weekdays and 8-9 on weekends, depending on what else I have to do ] Any questions? [ Nope! Did have fun making this, though. ] Other [ Song is ‘Ruins’ from Undertale. It’s comforting to me and I listened to it a million times while making this. ]
( Autism: As I said, I have autism spectrum disorder myself, so a lot of this research will be based in my own experience. Autism is a disability, and a spectrum, meaning that no two autistic people will have the exact same experience. As a kit, Sunkit’s autism will display in multiple ways, such as: Alexithemia, also known as emotional blindness, meaning she has trouble identifying and understanding her own emotions. For example, she might feel jealous of another cat for being around someone usually close to her, but she might not understand why she feels so negatively, or why it’s directed at that particular cat. Sunkit will also show self-stimulating behaviors, aka stimming. Sun’s stimming will show as tapping her paws on the ground, clawing the grass, repeating and mimicking sounds, clicking her teeth, or pacing around and bouncing in place. Sun would also have troubles with eye contact, either not making at all or staring too much without realizing. She’d also have issues understanding social cues, like indirect language, sarcasm, confusing metaphors, or unwritten social rules. Social interactions may feel like “performing” for others, or like a game she doesn’t really know how to play. Because of this, it might be difficult for her to make friends outside of her family. She may have difficulty regulating her emotions when angry or stressed, and in more serious cases this may lead to a meltdown. Meltdowns are NOT!!! tantrums, they are involuntary and intense reactions to stress. All meltdowns can look different, but Sunkit’s meltdowns will display as crying, collapsing, flexing claws/clawing at air, pawing at her face and verbal shutdowns. Overall, while autism isn’t inherently negative, it’s not a fully positive experience either. It can be incredibly stressful and even debilitating, and it’s important to display both sides of the disorder instead of painting it in one black-and-white light :3 ) ( Auditory Processing Disorder : APD is actually very commonly paired with autism! It’s also a condition I have. APD makes it difficult to process sounds and language. Sunkit will be able to hear words, but she’ll have trouble understanding them. She’ll have trouble focusing when there’s too much noise in the background, or when multiple cats try to speak to her. She also has trouble multitasking when she’s listening, having to stop what she’s doing just to concentrate on someone else’s words. During conversations, she may respond slower, as she has to take a moment to process the words that were said. She’ll probably also ask cats to repeat themselves a few times, or completely misunderstand their words altogether. Sunkit will probably also grow stressed when cats speak too fast or too loudly, as it makes them harder to understand. All of these things will likely lead to misunderstandings between her and other cats, as well as difficulty communicating without accommodations. )
