I gave thanks to everyone who helped me get to 1000 followers... but I never gave special thanks to the special people who helped me along the way. I started scratch when I was 9 years old and I had to take a programming class. I borrowed some books from the library and started copying down code. After a while, I got better and better until I was teaching some of the kids in my class while my teacher was messing around on his computer. I spent most of my time on scratch playing generic games (whyyy) and I realized a year later that scratch wasn't for playing games it was for making them and showing them to other people. I kept making games, until I got one of my first games removed. Somebody had reported my game as an exact copy after I changed the art and added new features. Thats when I stopped copying people, and made my own games. I stopped using scratch for a year when I was 11 to learn python and pygame but gave up at age 12. I came back to scratch and realized how much better I was at coding. I now knew how to use lists, custom blocks, and tons of features I had never thought about before. I used these in my games and got better and better until suddenly I lost motivation. If nobody saw my games what was the point of making them? I realized this after making my biggest game ever, 4300 blocks of code - made in 80 hours. It got 350 views in the first month. I made it for a game jam but the game jam closed before the deadline. I remembered the game "Tower Climb" and thought that it was a pretty simple game, so I could make it too. I also saw that it had 1.4 million views... I could make a fresh start and make games people would actually see. The problem with my games before was that you didnt know how to play, the controls were confusing, and they weren't very replayable. Thats why a "Tower Climb" type game would be much more likely to go viral (single button controls, replayability, and simple but pleasing graphics) thats how I came up with the idea of Spike Surge. I tried to make a fresh account with a memorable username, but my screen time settings wouldn't let me make it because they couldn't connect to reCAPTCHA. One day, at school, I was with my friend and we were both working on our games when he had the idea to make an account together. I thought that would be a great way to start fresh so I agreed. We used his computer to make the account and we called it "Demonic_Chicken". I immediately started grinding out Spike Surge, and was able to finish it in less than two weeks. My friend didnt have much experience in coding so he couldn't really help much. Later, I got some people to help me promote it (adding to studios). We were two days into adding to studios when I woke up in the morning on my birthday to see someone comment "Spike Surge is on top loved!" and I knew I'd hit the jackpot. It got a couple thousand views per day and I found out how much potential this fresh account had. I had to make this my account so that I could take full credit for the work I did instead of sharing it with someone who couldn't physically help with it. I texted him one night and after a few chunky texts, we agreed that it could be my account. I continued making games and now I make almost all of my games with , who makes them multiplayer and adds fun new features. Here I am today. Special thanks below: - Being my only friend at school to code with and the person who had the idea to make this account, idk where I'd be right now without him. - the only person out of a dozen to help me try to get trending... I ended up getting top loved instead but I'm not complaining. Sad to hear he's busy with stuff rn... - makes my games better by 200% and doesnt ask for credit back, thanks for being a good friend and not crashing out too bad when I don't like your updates. I enjoyed the good old days when we beta tested your games and used "test 2" iykyk - the inspiration for my first game which led a chain of others behind it. Thanks for pfp idea too lol. We still haven't made that collab yet :( - one of my first friends to support me in making my games. Idk where you went :( - your endless hilarious comments and support have really helped me. - Newest addition to the list of friends on scratch and being a good beta tester. - Being the most active person on Zenith... do you still eat anymore? Sorry for everyone kicking you from the game, I didnt tell them to do that... If you made it to here you are a very patient person and thanks for reading all this :D
