USER. rushhouring ⊹ this application is for deepkit. the reason why i'm generally aiming for this kit is due to several reasons; the first one being the incredible design that is incredibly well-made and one of the most gorgeous designs i've ever seen that I immediately started to cling onto. the second is due to the research being two highly sensitive and easily misrepresented or straight up ignored in roleplay. the confusion and lack of most people's knowledge about blindness and the extreme social stigma around schizophrenia are things I feel like I don't want to see done poorly. ⊹ i'm not too active compared to other head mates, but I do get on at least once a day. 5/10 is fair I believe, to be honest. my two last generations characters were limestonepaw and mangoleaf. ABT. CHARACTER + [ polite, passionate, determined, fair, wise, dutiful ] = [ quiet, blunt, dry, placid ] - [ asocial, colorless, disloyal, dull, fatalistic, stiff ] " deepkit can be simply.. described oddly. he's got a lot in his mind, but not a lot that he's too willing to say to anyone. usually found in the corners of camps or not even speaking while playing kit games, he tends to be very blunt when spoken to, and at times unable to pick up on nonverbal social cues. he does enjoy a bit of dry or sarcastic humor, as it entertains him. but he's overall a bit of an odd kit at times, but is truly kind to others if you get to know him. if he gets close to you, he is your greatest fighter. " ⊹ will remain generally masc, and won't experiment much but will pick up some neopronouns, and will use he/sea/sharp pronouns. he'll feel very hesitant on entering a relationship, and will end up being asexual demiromantic [and homoromantic]. RESEARCH ⊹ blindness I went with complete blindness; the complete loss of shape recognition or light detection, meaning Deepkit is unable to see anything at all. However, he is able to navigate his life nearly completely fine usually, especially in UrchinClan camp. If he knows the layout of an area, he will function rather well per usual, navigating with his other senses heightened with the absence of his eyes. Most notably, his whiskers, sense of smell, and ears guide him usually. When he becomes an apprentice, he will struggle to navigate the territory for a long time, and may only get a grasp of it as a ranger or if he has a good mentor who can help him learn the territory. Warrior cats has made their only blind cat in the series into a medic, in which I will strive to make Deepkit a warrior in general. ⊹ schizophrenia schizophrenia has a very bad case of being a disorder that is heavily misrepresented, leading to a lot of negative stereotypes inside of circles with characters who have it. deep kit is blind and relies on his ears and other senses, and often gets auditory hallucinations, most frequently of what he believes is waveblade's voice, or his siblings, calling for him. this leads to a lot of him ending up in corners of camp confused. but he can also have hallucinations involving touch, feeling like bugs are on him at times and making him feel very uncomfortable sitting still whenever they occur and often needing a sibling or friend near him to assure him. however, it becomes hard with another key symptom of schizophrenia; delusions. he may believe in things that are real due to this, as he has a strong feeling that he can only trust himself. this may also manifest in compulsions, and general things similar to that. a most notable delusion and compulsion may be that the dark forest is disappointed in him for anything he does, or things akin to that. it also affects his motor or neurological skills at times, making him randomly irritable or even stumble around. he will still strive for what he can whenever it comes to these things, seeing even getting out of his nest as a victory on those hard mornings where his disorder won't leave him be. it will take deepkit a long, long time in order to come to terms with his schizophrenia, often seeing it as something to loathe or even hate, albeit as he grows, he learns to grow with it and adapts. he will come to terms with it as a part of him, and stop trying to be so hateful of something he cannot control. he will have a sort of more monotonous voice and be bad at expressing emotions, and will slowly work on it over time. he also may sound robotic in his pronunciation, and often feels bad if a cat calls it out. OTHER deepkit is typically very closed off, in his own little bubble away from the world. and he deserves the best :] + i had so much trivia it had to go to n&c.
TRIVIA ⊹ typically seen with a blank face despite his emotions, but is able to have expression changes depending on his emotion; he isn't completely a blank slate, he just finds it hard and feels awkward when he smiles or frowns heavily. actually a very good listener, and always open to have others talk to him about their day, interests, and more. it keeps his mind off of things. ⊹ his voice-claim would be black hole from bfb-tpot. it's a bit of a cheesy pick considering his design, but it feels fitting to me has somewhat of a heavy interest in the weather; the things he cannot see but can feel- the sun on his fur, the rain coming down that he can hear, and puddles under his paws, it all interests him. ⊹ due to his love for weather he may want a weather-themed suffix when he becomes a full warrior, enjoys the idea of it. the only thing that can really tick him off a lot of the time is insulting his siblings-- otherwise, he will be very patient about a lot of things, and if he gets a random aggression spike, he will take his own leave without saying anything. ⊹ will pick family / friends over his clan without hesitation, he sees his group of friends and family as his clan, and he'd rather have them than a bunch of cats who don't know him. ⊹ likes to hum whenever he's in silence! his ears are quite sensitive so he dislikes the sound of the blood ringing in his ears, so he simply hums to fill up the air and time! this is also why he loves rain. as a kit used to bump into things. a lot. he was first learning the layout of the nursery, then camp, he will bump into things and potentially even gain a small scar or two on his snout from his poking around. ⊹ actually incredibly intelligent; if he so wished to be evil, he could. he just sees no point or reason in casting harm upon other cats, and sees it as disgusting. he'd rather attack the cats who hurt others instead of become one of them. if he was a kittypet, his name would be mariana- named after the mariana trench and the depths of it! ⊹ will likely stay in UrchinClan his entire life. he does not care too much for it, but it's his home, and relearning an entirely new territory with his whiskers, nose, paws, etc. would be too much stress on him. avoids stressors at all costs; if he gets stressed, his symptoms will spike up and he will have to spend some time away from everyone to calm himself down. ⊹ not morally pure or morally evil. he's more of a gray, as he sees being evil as useless, but does hold UrchinClan values either way, and is very devoted to the dark forest. if he has to kill to protect his family or friends, then he absolutely will. somewhat scared of starclan and the dark forest as sometimes, mere mentions of them could make him spiral. ⊹ has a vague, soft, and mellow scent, likely resembling a fire, smoke, and soot, but with a bit of a nature-y tang, a bit complex. his favorite flowers are those that are the strongest-scented. because he can always recognize them from any others. ⊹ one of the best cats to go to for advice, always puts logic first over emotions, however, as it seems better-suited to him. i've been doodling him in my sketchbook, but I don't know how to add that into the project. if you have any ideas please let me know! ^_^" do you think I'm sane about deepkit also schizophrenia research is obtained from several websites and my partner, who experiences many of the symptoms of schizophrenia and I took inspiration from his life experiences to make sure it affected deepkit properly. blindness research was taken from varying websites and blindness associations, and I can link the sources for both that I got my information from if needed.
