Night 8 I sigh, carefully easing the door to this insane place open yet again. It seems like I’m just a glutton for punishment now. I’m just over halfway through my 2-week term, but I highly doubt that I will make it for much longer. Springtrap is waiting for me the moment I step through the door. “I’m here to take you to the office,” he says, taking my hand in his. I nod absentmindedly, following him to the office. He notices my silence and looks at me in concern. “Ivy, is everything okay at home?” I look up, a bit startled, and scramble for an answer. “Y-Yeah, everything’s fine.” I’m horrible at lying, and my tongue trips up as I try to sound convincing. His eyes narrow. “What is wrong?” His hand gently squeezes mine, and I relax a bit. “I had a strange dream last night…I dreamt that I was in my bedroom, but there were two doors for some reason. And a closet with a sliding door right in front of my bed, which is odd, because I don’t have one of those. “I looked around my house, and everything seemed normal. I couldn’t go downstairs for some reason. I could have sworn I heard laughter in my head every time I tried to exit my upstairs…” I trail off as Springtrap’s expression darkens. He nearly shoves me into the office before he takes off down the hallway, heading for the backstage area. I look after him for a moment before I head to the desk and pick up the tablet. To my horror, the cameras for the Show Stages and the East and West Hallways are covered in static. “What in the world…?” I hit the side of the device gently to see if that will fix the problem, but no luck. The screen stays the same, and it’s of no use to me. “I hope this won’t ruin your night too terribly…” Shadow Freddy’s voice flows through the room like actual liquid. I tense, a cold chill sliding down my spine. “There’s no need for that, my dear~! Why don’t you be a good girl and wind the music box, hmm?” I slowly flip to Cam 11, and sure enough, the music box is nearly wound down. “Why are you helping me?” I ask him as I wind the box. “Simple. Springtrap won’t be around for much longer, I’m afraid.” I nearly drop the tablet before I steady my hands and gently set it on the desk. I spin my chair around to see that purple bear smirking in the corner of the office. “What are you talking about, Shadow? Of course Springtrap will still be here!” I try to sound confident, but my voice wavers a bit. Shadow’s grin widens a bit and then he grabs my hand and yanks me out of the chair. “L-Let go of me!” I manage to gasp out before his hand covers my mouth. “Hush…Come on, I’ll take you to your precious little Springtrap.” The entire room seems to blink out of existence for a moment, and then I’m suddenly in the Parts & Service room. Springtrap is fighting against a huge, golden bear with far too many dagger-like teeth for my liking. This monster even has teeth on its stomach, and its claws are massive as well. “Ivy!” Springtrap’s voice is filled with panic and anger. He tries to reach for my hand, but Shadow yanks me away from him. “You stupid rabbit,” Shadow leers at him, “you should have let me help her and kept your big, fat nose out of our business.” “What are you going to do to him?!” I cry out, unable to take this any longer. “I’m not going to do anything! They are.” He suddenly spins me around in front of him again, and now I see more horrifying versions of the animatronics. If the Phantoms were terrifying, these are even worse. I see a shark-toothed Chica grinning at me from the darkness, and her Cupcake even has sharp teeth too. Bonnie waves at me with a clawed hand, his mouth broken in a manner similar to Springtrap’s. Freddy has three little versions of himself sitting on his shoulders, and all of them are torn and toothy. Even Foxy looks worse: the top half of his muzzle, except for his endoskeleton, is missing, and he has a huge metal tongue that keeps darting out of his mouth like a snake’s. Even Mangle and Balloon Boy are part of this, their new forms just as horrific as the others. I start shaking slightly, and Shadow grins at my discomfort while the others, including the hulking golden bear, start laughing. “Don’t be afraid, child. We’re still your friends!” Bonnie calls over to me mockingly. His deadly grin makes my blood run cold. “What’s the matter? Scared of a few extra teeth?” Chica suddenly appears in front of me, and opens her mouth to reveal three rows of long, pointed teeth. I yelp and jump backwards into Shadow, who laughs and lifts me into his arms. “Don’t worry, they won’t hurt you. Yet.” His voice sounds deeper, and I turn to see that he has transformed into a twisted, toothy version of himself, which looks virtually identical to the golden bear. I bite my lip and turn my head to see Springtrap still trying to fight back, but I can tell that his strength is ebbing. “Let him go. Please.” I turn back to this monstrous Shadow and try to reason with him. “He’s trying to amend what he did in the past!”
“It’s too late for that now,” Shadow replies evenly. “He’ll be dismantled in a few moments. I’m sure he’d wish for you to be the sole witness to that event!” “NO!” Springtrap cries out wildly. “Don’t make her watch this!!” I feel tears come to my eyes, but I blink them away, focusing on Springtrap’s face, trying to memorize it. “Ivy…” His eyes widen as the others approach him slowly. Shadow hoists me onto his shoulders, and I have a perfect view of the table that Springtrap is being held down on. I want to try pleading with them again, but I know that it’s not going to help anything, so I keep my mouth shut. Shadow grips my legs, and his claws prick my skin, drawing blood. I wince, but don’t dare make a sound. He soon releases me, disappointed that I didn’t scream, I suppose. “Hmm…Which part of him should we start with?” Chica asks, rubbing her hands in excitement. Foxy’s long tongue slithers out of his mouth again. “How about his arms first? That’s what he did to me.” “But he took my legs away first!” Bonnie complains quietly, sliding his claws down Springtrap’s battered suit, causing the decaying rabbit to squirm. The others grin at him evilly, and I am stuck watching him go through all of this, unable to help him or even to move. “Why doesn’t everyone take a part that he took from them in the past?” Freddy asks. This idea is picked up by everyone else, and soon enough they all have some part of Springtrap in their hands. Freddy grabs Springtrap’s neck, Chica takes one of his arms, Foxy takes the other, Bonnie takes one of his legs, and this horrifying Golden Freddy takes his body. Shadow Freddy takes his other leg. “One part at a time, everyone. Chica, you may go first.” Her grin widens as she carefully begins to rip Springtrap’s arm off. He tries to stay still, but I tell that he’s having a hard time staying still during this. Oil begins to leak out of the wound, and it’s all I can do not to leap off of Shadow’s back and run to his aid. One by one, each of the animatronics take their turn until only Freddy and Golden Freddy are left. Springtrap’s eyes are glazing over, and I’m hoping that they will just end his suffering quickly from here. Shadow steps forward. “Leave him.” The other two nod and back away, then they all vanish. Shadow sets me down roughly. “See you tomorrow, my darling~!” He turns and walks into the shadows at the edge of the room before seeming to become a shadow and melt away. I rush to Springtrap’s side, trying to figure out if there’s any way to help him. “I-Ivy…Run…They will come back for y-you…” His mouth can barely form the words, and I burst into tears upon hearing his voice come out sounding so broken. “I’m so sorry…I couldn’t help you like you’ve helped me.” He shakes his head slightly. “It’s okay…You’ve helped me more than you know. T-Take care of Plushtrap, please…You’re the only one who can, now.” I nod stiffly. Before I know what I’m doing, I wrap my arms around his mutilated body and hug him tightly, my tears splashing onto his dirty fur and washing off some of the grime that has accumulated over time. He coughs weakly, and I turn my head to see oil leaking out of his mouth. “S-Springtrap?” He grins weakly over at me. “On t-the plus side…I’ll f-finally be free of this p-prison…” I can’t say anything else, as my tongue seems to have forgotten how to function. He looks me in the eyes one more time before his body goes limp. I see a greyish-purple form slowly rise out of his suit, then it looks at me and waves slightly. I see that it’s clutching a balloon in its other hand. I stare up at him, questions obvious in my eyes. “Springtrap?” I finally squeak. He nods and puts a nearly-transparent hand on my shoulder. “Thank you, Ivy.” Before I can say anything else, he lets go of the balloon and slowly ascends with it, vanishing for good soon after. I stay where I am for a few more minutes, until I feel something tap my shoulder. “Child, you should leave this room. You might lose your sanity, you know. We don’t want that to happen yet.” The voice is unfamiliar, but warm and kind. I slowly turn my head and come face-to-face with a humanoid form in a white mask with long, slender arms and legs. Even its body is far too thin to be human. The one other thing I notice right away are its long claw-like fingers. “Who are you?” I ask weakly, getting to my feet. “I am the Puppet. I’m afraid your shift has been over for about five minutes now. Here are your keys. I noticed you weren’t in the office, where you were supposed to be, so I checked the place for you. And here you were.” I take the keys from him, and he bows slightly before gliding away. A moment later, I stagger to my car and buckle myself in. Tears cloud my vision as I rest my head on the steering wheel. “Springtrap…” End of Night 8
