You are an Aperture Laboratories employee tacked with finding the Bloop. You are supposed to be on the Borealis, but it mysteriously disappeared right before your mission. Without a ship, you have to ride in a clunky submarine to finish the mission. You are very tired, so you have to drink coffee to stay awake.
