Hello! This year for Halloween, I plan to go as Scaramouche or Wanderer from genshin impact! I quite honestly don’t know much about this character but Lightning asked me to go as Scara to match her costume of a related character (don’t know if she wants to surprise y’all so I won’t say who until she does lol) [I’VE GAINED PERMISSION WE’RE GONNA BE TARTAGLIA AND SCARA AND SING I’M A 6 AND SHE’S AN 11 AT TRICK OR TREATERS] and I don’t go halfway on Halloween, ya girl goes the full mile. Unfortunately, there is nothing simple about this man’s design so this will be neither easy nor cost effective but I am hoping to make the most of this costume through content, conventions, and similar events. Anyways, thought I’d share my process if anyone wants an idea for this year or another. So far, I’ve used an Amazon gift card to purchase the sandals and wig (I’ve included the images inside, click/space to see). I did originally intend to make or thrift the sandals and I did find a red pair at a second hand store but unfortunately they were 5s and I wear 9-8.5 so that wouldn’t be work. And more recently, I’ve also bought a pattern from NATA Cosplay on eBay (search “NATA Cosplay wanderer hat tutorial” and a yt video with a link to the eBay should show up. I also added a picture of the eBay light description) and I’m in the process of ordering the correct thicknesses of EVA foam and printing/taping together the paper pattern for the hat. While I would love to share pictures of my progress of the pattern, I unfortunately will get into trouble for sharing the pattern for free because of how hard these people worked on it. I will update when the sandals and wig arrive, if and when I find things for the outfit, and when I begin the physical build of the hat. Happy Halloween to those who celebrate and I hope this can give someone ideas!! :)) Side note, you can order the hat preassembled but all of them were like $80+ for a poor quality product and while that may be worth it for some if I’m going to pay that price I would rather a durable, nice looking product. So while the diy version may be more expensive, it will be far more worth my time and money than the premade one (imo, no shade to cosplayers who buy premade costumes, I just like the ability to tweak things to my need as I build :)) )
