Hello there! (Yes, I got permission from hann to add this to dbd. https://scratch.mit.edu/users/Hannissa/#comments-386564397 ) Recently, @Hannissa's studio "Different By Design" has gained a pretty big community, and there are a lot of gwdfiers who moved there because of gwdfi's closure. (I thought it was silly at first, but not anymore.) I get it. Gwdfi closes indefinitely. You get no more than a 3-day notice. Those three days went by fast. Too fast. And before you had even processed it, gwdfi was gone. So, you find this studio that some gwdfiers manage that was created by a responsible gwdfier and you look at it and join it! One day, it's active, and it's like you got gwdfi back. But Hann doesn't want her studio to be treated like an alternate gwdfi. So, I made a list of ways you can treat dbd like its own studio in the other description.
1 - GWDFI slang/jokes? No. Here are some examples of things you should try to avoid using in dbd but you can make as your own slang (dbd already has some slang words that I put in too!)(with examples to show that other chatrooms have words for these): Gwdfi: "*sips inactivitea*" Grifftopia: "chat ded" Gwdfi: "positivitea wheel" Gaehive: "euphoria wheel" DBD: "sunshine spin" (if you're asking for it I would say "sunlight please!") and an example of another gwdfi thing that you shouldn't say in dbd... "Happy miku day" - unless, of course, it's actually miku day. This is a gwdfi inside joke, if you ask me then I can explain it to you. 2 - GWDFI x DBD? Try to avoid things like: "꧁ dbders who don't fit in ꧂" "✿ gwdfiers by design ✿" Because they're title jokes that imply that dbd and gwdfi are just branches of each other. 3 - "Ughhh why can't we talk about other studios? That's so annoying" Complain all you want, you'll just get the same explanation every time and no other replies. The reason it's banned is because of all the gwdfiers in dbd and Hann didn't want the topic of the studio to be other studios all the time because dbd is still a relatively small community. Please respect that. 4 - "Most of the community is just gwdfiers anyway, there's no point" I think that treating dbd like its own studio helps it build its own personality, especially with new dbders coming in. Now, here are some questions and my answers in case you're curious! "Are these offical rules?" Only not mentioning gwdfi, but some of them may fall into that category. You don't have to do everything I said in this project, but if you want to treat dbd like its own studio but don't know how, these are just some suggestions from me :D "Who gave you the right to tell us what to do?" These are my suggestions, not rules. Also, first amendment- free speech. "Wait, what? I'm a new dbder and I don't understand this. Could you please explain it?" Basically, a chat studio known as girls who don't fit in (gwdfi) closed indefinitely about two weeks ago, and the community had very short notice, and this place meant a lot to some people and they couldn't properly get over it with only 3 days, so they moved to dbd. It's not a big deal for you though and you don't need to worry about it. "What's gwdfi? What's dbd?" Gwdfi explained above. Different By Design (dbd) is a chat studio on this website.
