................A.SC.&T.RR 8-P CLASS No. 1...................... ............................... "PIONEER"....................................... - As the first locomotive to be purchased & built for the ASCT, it was the swansong to start the railway, and such was seen as the beginning. 2 of these engines would be built with No.1 being named "Pioneer". No.2 would not actually be built and brought to the railway until 1 month and a half later in early October, 1874. No.1 would usually be used for shunting and small freight runs. No.1 usually does not ever go near the town. ................A.SC.&T.RR 8-P CLASS No. 2...................... ......................................................................................... - Remember when I said that No.1 doesn't go near the town?...It's because the engine has no side-plates or plow. And the nearby town enforced a rule that any locomotive that is to pass by the town's tram system MUST have these both fitted to the engine...So No.2 is the one usually pulling the trains that pass by or go to the towns. The boards are *ahem* simple in design and are not made for anything else besides as protection from anything or anyone that may come in contact with the locomotive. (The first whistle you hear is for No.1, and the second is No. 2)
