Being Popular in spop can go one of two paths or even both... You can be popular for being good at singing, songwriting, or mixing, etc. You can be popular for controversies, problems you've caused, drama, etc . To be honest, ppl who are popular in spop you see their names everywhere! Like, I mean, everywhere, they seem to be in every group, news report, entertainment, awards show, etc It gets a bit repetitive and a bit boring... reminder: I AM THROWING NO SHADE AT ANYONE, THESE ARE JUST MY OPINIONS. These people have good voices and mixing; their promo is endless. Even though they promote themselves, so do their Companies, but they have more promotion and adverts not only due to that. Okay, Example: You know why irl companies put their logo on like everything. Like a water bottle has Scratch's logo, a person sees it and searches up Scratch, becomes a user and they enjoy coding and wtv. They do this so after you buy the merch or food, you have their logo on your stuff and clothes, you're technically like a free billboard, and you talk about the brand, ppl hear abt it, then they go to the company's site/store. Which is money to them. So you must be asking, does this apply to spop? People talk about groups and people, they post stan lists, fan pages, and studios. This is just a free promo and adverts for the company and the pop stars who are alr popular. I'm not saying this is bad, I believe one person's victory in spop is everyone's victory.
