Prologue: “It’s nice out.” Link whispered to me as we sat in the forest. “It sure is.” I replied. Link was my best friend. We had known each other since 1st grade. Suddenly I heard a howl. I shrieked. “It’s okay. It’s just a pack of wolves. Probably far out.” Link said putting his hand on my shoulder. I rose my head up from my arms and smiled at his smirk. Then, it happened. A wolf came right out of the woods and was walking towards us growling. “Ahh! Link I’m scared!” I said weakly. “I-it will be okay.” Link replied putting his arm around me. Soon, more wolves came out of the woods following the first one! It got a foot away from me about to bite, it charged at me! Link pushed me back and put himself in my place. The wolf had bitten him near his chest! Blood was everywhere! And I could not tell if he was breathing. I started crying and dialed 911 on my phone with my whimpering hands and in 5 minutes they arrived. “He might survive if he gets to the hospital quick enough.” Said a nurse putting Link on a cot and into the ambulance. I slid in and held his arm tightly. Gentle, But tight. When we got to the hospital, Link went into the Emergency Room and I was told to stay in the waiting room. In about an hour a doctor came out with a concerned look on his face. “We put him on life support but he will die when we take him off of it. He is not going to make it.” He said. My eyes were burning like fire. I could not cry when I was before a doctor. I said nothing. The doctor led me into links room. Links mother, and his sister, (whose name was Sofia) were sitting on some chairs. I went over to say goodbye. The thought made me start crying. I walked over and link somehow had enough strength to sit up and hug me for the last time. The doctors let me stay in the room when they turned life support off. I watched Link close his eyes forever. Chapter one coming soon!
