First of all, I'd like to thank all the people who have been following me recently! I'm sorry to disappoint with this "sudden" leave, but if you've been following me for a while or are a close friend, you'd know this isn't sudden at all. P.S. If you're still interested in my art/stories/characters, check the "Notes and Credits" section ;) My main reason for leaving? I don't really want to create content "for kids." Don't get me wrong, I'm not creating content for adults or anything X.x. A lot of my stories (in particular) contain things like swearing and sensitive subjects, so I'd just feel more comfortable with my audience being 13+. Scratch however, is a website for ALL ages, and the last thing I'd wanna do is traumatize little kids with my oc lore /hj. Heck, I've even had a project of mine get taken down for "not being appropriate for all ages." Screw that, I'm done with it. I'd rather deal with the baloney on YT rather than fighting for the right to post my projects on Scratch. These next reasons are less relevant, but still somewhat affected my decision to leave... 1. Scratch's stage size. IT'S SO BABY. At first, I didn't really realize just how much scratch crunches up your art. It was the day I upgraded my canvas size when I was shocked to see my art dismembered into pixel art. The sizing is also extremely inconvenient for YT videos. I really hate those black bars at the edge of my screen. 2. Can't delete comments No one talks about this. Am I in the minority? To me, it feels like an extreme safety concern not being able to delete comments. Any old stranger can cough up a message I made five years ago! If you're the creator of a studio, you should be able to delete other people's comments as well. 3. It's so damn buggy You'd think the people who create a CODING website would be able to CODE their own platform. So many times has Scratch just had a glitch when you send a message and it says it doesn't send, but it actually did, so you try and send it again--and OOP! You've sent five million messages! Iykyk .-. I'd like to emphasize, I AM NOT COMPLETELY LEAVING SCRATCH. I will still be commenting, hearting, favoriting, and generally interacting with posts. I just won't be posting any new projects.
I would like to continue posting my art, ofc. I wanted to post this project when my YouTube channel was still active, so I'd have somewhere I'd regularly post to send y'all. Unfortunately, that is not the case. But I'll still link my channel anyway! https://www.youtube.com/@Newpop9 I have a lot of other socials too. If you see Newpop9 (or something like that), it's probably me. I have a lot of random socials. Some of these include the funny blue controller, the colored camera gram, the house for toys (TH), and DeviantArt. Out of those, I'd say my most active is the colored camera gram iykyk. For those who DON'T know, sorry for the horrible censorship, I'm trying to leave this platform so I don't ever have to do this again. Thank you to those who've stayed <3
