Space Or Click I wouldn't consider The Sonic Universe itself to be canon however the first sketch of SMBD Mario and Luigi was drawn on the same paper sheet as Sonic and Tails I like the idea of Sonic being normal at first, believe or not. This version of Sonic got abandoed as a kid and left on The South Island who spent his childhood surrounded by Mute Animals, so he didn't even know he can talk until Tails found him. He became the Blue Blurr we all know when he snuck into Dr. Eggman's lab and got hit by a Laser Powered by the Blue Chaos Emerald during tests. His shoes slowly began to fall apart from the high speed and rolling so later on Tails made his new Shoes. He dyes his needles after one of the Ancient Tribes that used to rule the South Island.
