Television for the Kingdom of Belgium ("Televisie voor het Koninkrijk België" in Dutch, "Télévision pour le Royaume de Belgique" in French, and "Fernsehen für das Königreich Belgien" in German) is a Belgian television network based in Antwerp, broadcasting on UHF channel 8. It was originally launched in 1995 as competition to the BRT company, branding itself as "voor België, niet alleen voor Vlaanderen en Wallonië" (aka. "pour la Belgique, pas seulement pour la Flandre et la Wallonie" & "für Belgien, nicht nur für Flandern und Wallonien"), capitalizing on the growing nationalism for Belgium as a nation as a key selling point for viewership. It also capitalized on inclusivity, emphasizing that it wasn't just for the Dutch and French population, but also the minorities (German, Picard, Walloon, Champenois, Lorrain, Limburgish, Luxembourgish, Marols, Yiddish, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Turkish, etc.) in Belgium. For a brief period in 1998, TKB/TRB/FKB (or just TKB) was even above the BRT in ratings and viewership due to their multiple language feeds (one in Dutch, one in French, one in German, and one multilingual feed, aptly named "TKB Multilanguage", that also promoted minority languages). The BRT responded by splitting into two feeds, a Dutch one in Flanders (VRT) and a French one in Wallonia (RTBF). This choice was respected and praised by the TKB, as they viewed it as "a popular choice made by our friends in another building, made for Belgians and only Belgians." In terms of political bias in Belgium, the TKB tends to lean slightly towards the Socialist Party, or SP (PS in French) for short. Besides the slight political leaning, their non-political news topics are relatively well-backed and factually true, with a poll in 2018 showing that the TKB's reports were more believable by the Belgian population than the VRT/RTBF.
