After one billion years, I return! With a lot of art. Plenty of this has actually been around during the John art dump, but was not included because, well, it wasn't of John. Fullscreen is recommended! 1. Face studies for Tony Perkins (bottom) and working on Nancy Herschel's design. 2. This is a fan character for the concept album "The Post-Traumatic Manifesto", named Satellite Girl, or Elena Korolev. The outfit is supposed to resemble a satellite with the open skirt and chrome pants, with a flight jacket and astronaut boots. Elena feels both too far from and too close to other people, due to ipseity disturbance: "Around others, I get pulled into their gravity; I can only be myself on my own." There is a tension between the need to connect and the need for protection, and hence, she must remain a satellite in set orbit, neither too close nor too far. Self-isolation (particularly due to ipseity disturbance) was a space I saw unfilled in the canon girls, despite how common I imagine it must be. 3. splitter bnnuy 4. Another study of Tony Perkins! 5. John so cutes. The funniest part of his development I think is how he became progressively less expressive over time. 6. tonyyy 7. Once again I am subjecting you all to my OC x Canon. In case you are unfamiliar, say hello to Norman Bates (left) and John Vasilyev! The actual height difference here is 6'2" and 5'4", so John should actually hit at Norman's shoulder, but as you'll see on a number of these, I fudge this to fit them both in frame in interesting interactions. Generally, Norman is touch-averse, so this hug from behind shows they're trusting of each other. 8. Art of sov!Kankri, refashioned for ska! He is in canon a straight edge punk, and as the cultures are close (and I have a friend into ska), I decided to blend them. 9. jonathan... 10. Studies of various hug poses with a focus on height differences. 11. I eventually settled on this standing-and-pulling-down pose, as Norman is the one seeking comfort, and typically expresses that by trying to make herself (click trans flag) smaller. 12. which is all to say IT'S IPSEITY DISTURBANCE AGAIN BABEY white noise overtaking empty space you understand. Cares too much vs cares too little. Shoutout to schizophrenics 13-16. Barn owl Norman Bates :3 bc shes bird. Barn owls also have this odd black stare among owls, which I think fits with her themes of watching. 17. This text is completely incomprehensible lol. Anyway this was a series of outfit designs for Norman post-transition, whom I have named Elizabeth, after a Shirley Jackson character. She dresses very differently than her mother, drawing on more triangular, modern 50s silhouettes rather than the considerably less shaped workdress her mother wears. Her hair is also looser. 18. Isn't she so cutes :3 19. ("Can you age regress to 11?" "I'm 6'2'." "No problem, just wear a trenchcoat and wobble.") Textpost drawing 20-21. In which Vern creates a design for a character that already had a design. Anyway this is Taliya from webcomic and her design inspirations are her descendant and two Golden Age film stars, Loretta Young and Judy Garland. Judy Garland is far more of an influence, owing to Taliya's backstory. 22. "If I don't think about it, it can't get me." 23. arcanary furries. despite being a bear (gay), john is an otter 24. character from webcomic with lyrics from Cutiemarks by Vylet Pony 25. Farley Granger studies because I watched Strangers on a Train. 26. Fantrolls for Evilquest! Joquil "Jo" Renfas (left) is a goldblood Thief of Hope and Number Twelve (right) is a mutant cerulean Sylph of Void. Jo's design echoes Dwight Frye's Renfield, with an added dog motif, and 12 is supposed to be edgy, specifically of the "escaped lab rat living weapon" variety. 27. Liemys Camisa, indigo Rogue of Space. He's Twelve's wretched moirail and an emo songwriter. 28. Studies of mongooses (for Liemys) and bearded vultures (for Phoibe). 29. Columbo (for Lepyda) + other various bodies (including Suwulf). 30. Jo's problem is that, as a Thief of Hope, she finds herself lacking in belief and, well, hope, so she feels the need to tear down others to feel better about herself, originating from her status as a former gifted battery now overtaken by voidrot (fantasy MS). 31. Her quirk is echoing the words of other people, which majorly limits her ability to communicate. 32. Twelve's psionics are different than the standard cerulean mind control, as they manifest as uncontrolled hallucinogenic vapors that exit through her mouth. She wears a gas mask to control them, which messes with her breathing, face, and brain. 33. important news though: she is a teenaged tgirl who wants to be loved. 34. More fiddling with Jo's design, simplified down to this. Her horns are supposed to echo fangs and folded dog ears, and her hair is like bat wings. 35-36. Twelve in the lab. 37-38. Horse studies for Laural.
39. Laural Pietyr is Jo's moirail. She's doing it in part to prove that she would in fact be a good tool to the empire if she can reform this inherently evil vampire! 40-41. Arcanary... The second image is based on a real photograph from the time. 42. More Jo. The angry version of her here has the hair become more fluffy, like feathered angel wings, and her usually black eyes turn white. 43. Twelve has suffered too much so I gave her a blanket and hot cocoa. 44-45. Drawings for a fashion ask game! The sketches and finished pieces are both included because I feel I majorly janked up the proportions in trying to fix them to lay down colors. u_u 46. The aforementioned Phoibe Crucix! Teal Witch of Doom and classic goth. She's 12's kismesis, and has the Jigsaw philosophy that if you put someone through something awful, they'll change as a person. She's trying to fix Twelve, as she sees 12 as unable to stand up for herself, and wants to make her into the monster that Phoibe knows she can be. 48. Catara Dupine, olive Heir of Mind. She's a proud dark empath who thinks BBC Sherlock is the greatest show in the world. Naturally, she hates Jo. 49. Wesson Mavlav, violet Seer of Rage. He is an incredibly white gay man who tries to make up for his naturally limiting orientation by sucking up to the empire. He's the kind of guy who bites at everyone and brushes anyone off by saying it's a joke. (Of course, as a violet, he can't really punch up.) He was assigned as a kismesis to Victil Cthono, Phoibe's best friend, but as Victil didn't fight back in a satisfactory matter, Phoibe stepped in to be their auspistice. 49. ok more arcanary 50. Third piece of ipseity disturbance art. John feels like he lacks an identity, and so holds onto that void as the closest thing he has to a self. Someone coming too close would annihilate him. Norman has a similar lack of identity, and tries to fill that up by being defined by other people. For some funny reason, both John and Mother are dead. 51. Elizabeth in the Taxidermy Girl dress, because it's her song! Look at her, she's so happy.
