"Hey Emma!" I turn around to see Callie and Ruby. "Oh, hey there," I seem neutral. "Have you seen this cute boy?" Callie pointed at student council vice president Asher Ahern, who is cute, but not...well... "OMG ASHER PLEASE MARRY ME!" Ruby yells at a now super confused and concerned Asher. Yeah, this is what I mean. I don't like boys. But I'm not gay. But I'm not straight. I've personally never had a crush. Not because I haven't had puberty yet, but because I just...haven't. The only crushes I had were fictional, I guess? "Yeah...I guess so," I replied. "Are you GAY, Emma?" Ruby narrowed her eyes after noticing that I wasn't that enthusiastic over Asher. "NO! He's just not my type..." I don't hate gay people, but I wouldn't say I'm gay despite most likely NOT being straight. "But he's everybody's type!" Callie remarked. I then walked away, out of irritation. Ruby and Callie are most likely going to spread a rumor saying that I don't like boys. I know my thoughts make me look homophobic, but except I don't. I just have to pretend this way because then I might get abandoned and sent to an orphanage for the LGBTQ+ until someone outside of Fairwell adopts the children. My parents would never care if I'm gay or not, which is good, but they would want me to keep it a secret. I believe I am something called AroAce, but I would never confess that. I then go to the back of a nearby abandoned home with no other buildings surrounding it after school and come in meekly. "Come in, Emma!"
