There are currently 34 cats in Windclan. —— Windclan lore: - Windclan is a generally peaceful clan that prefers to avoid drama and battles. They can get away with being peaceful, as their territory is mostly deemed unappealing to other clans. Therefore, they have to deal with very little land disputes. - Windclan has a tradition of being very closely bonded to Riverclan, which started when a historic Riverclan leader fell in love with a Windclan leader. These two clans visit each other much more often than any other clans do, with it being common to see a Windclan cat visiting Riverclan camp for no purpose other than to see their friends. - Despite this closeness, Windclan is forbidden from assisting Riverclan in battles with Skyclan, as Skyclan would certainly retaliate against them. But many Windclan cats still hold grudges against Skyclan. - Windclan is very friendly and welcoming of visitors and new members, and is by far the easiest clan to join. Cliffwhisker and Monsterfuzz, for instance, both moved from Skyclan, with Cliffpaw, being a weaker and less battle inclined cat, risking exile, so his grandpa Monsterfuzz suggested they switch to Windclan instead so Cliffpaw wouldn’t have to face the bullying and pressure anymore. Monsterfuzz may have had some alterior motives in suggesting moving though, as he is now dating Rosestripe. - Patchyclover is Goosestar’s brother, having moved from Riverclan in early warriorhood. Harepounce is his daughter. - Windclan is located on a Twoleg wheat farm, and therefore has an abundance of mice to hunt. Windclan rarely has to face starvation. - However, this wheat field home does leave their territory nearly entirely bare of trees, and lacking much of the other clans’ diversity in herbs. They rely on trading with other clans to have a steady supply, and as they cannot offer many plants to trade, most Windclan cats have taken up crafting in one way or another. Making lures for Riverclan to easier catch fish, nests for Skyclan cats to sleep in, and many others. Elders especially are masters of crafts, and take it upon themselves to teach the younger generation. It is said this mental stimulation helps Windclan elders live longer than that of any other clan. - During late summer, when the wheat is harvested, Windclan cats have an annual tradition of moving to Riverclan camp for a few weeks. This season is met with celebration from both clans, and is always excitedly anticipated. Even Skyclan will temporarily truce with Riverclan to respect their holiday. - Because crop rotation exists, sometimes Windclan territory is a chickpea field instead. This is less preferred though, as it provides less coverage. - The farmer who owns this farm is aware that there are some cats who live on his property, and doesn’t mind them, as they help with pests. He is not aware of exactly how many cats are here, and would probably estimate the number to be closer to 5 than 34, but what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him. Relations: -Coyotestar and Gravelfur are mates. - Coyotestar is Calicospots’ sister. - Crystalpaw, Parsleypaw, and Twinklepaw are the kits of Mayflypond and Swiftfield. - Mayflypond and Butterflyflutter are siblings. - Butterflyflutter is mates with Fishfin in Riverclan. - Cricketpelt is the parent of Sinisterpaw. Her other parent is unknown. - Wetbat is Cricketpelt’s brother. - Silverwing is the uncle of Wetbat and Cricketpelt. - Silverwing and Grassyplain used to be mates, and had Redeye, but have since divorced. - Grassyplain is now with Plateautail. Their kits include Stingstripe, Wheatsprout, Swiftfield, and Oniontear, who has moved to Skyclan. - Snowwhisker is Grassyplain’s mother. - Snowwhisker and Rosestripe are siblings. - Iceeater is Rosestripe’s child from his marriage before Monsterfuzz, though Iceeater is closer in age with Stingstripe, Swiftfield, and Wheatsprout. - Harepounce is Patchyclover’s daughter. - Cliffwhisker is the grandson of Monsterfuzz. - Monsterfuzz and Rosestripe are mates. - Orbweavertail, Plateautail, Lemongrasspatch, and Dragonflyfoxglove are siblings, though Plateautail is from an earlier litter than the rest. - Orbweavertail is dating Daffodilfur, which is a little awkward, since Daffodilfur is exes with Lemongrasspatch. - Harepounce is mates with Wetbat. - Cliffwhisker is crushing hard on Spidersilk but will not make a move. - Birdfeather is Pricklesnout’s adopted kid. - Birdfeather is in a queerplatonic relationship with Moldtail. - Dirtpath is related to no one, but happy to be here. - Fivespots showed up one day and never left, so I guess she’s a clan member now.
