[ TW: violence, wounds, rot, zombies/monsters ] " come on, Fluffypaw! " Fluffypaw begged, nudging my side with his nose. I could already feel a lump forming in my throat, stopping me from speaking. It was forbidden for anyone but the healers and leaders to enter the crystal cave, we both knew that. " it will be worth it, I promise! " he continued, shooting me his classic, goofy sharp-toothed grin. I couldn't help but give in. ' The moon crystal is one of the most beautiful things in all of the territories, ' Tourmalinestar meowed, ' It is one of the most stunning things my eyes have ever landed on, maybe you will see it some day. ' he nudged me playfully. That was this morning, now, we were going to see it for real. I followed Asterpaw out of the Gathering Grove, ducking and weaving through the crowds of cats chatting, laughing and sharing news. We pushed our way through the tall grass as we made our slow ascent up the mountain. The gemstone cave was told to be a small walk's up the mountain, not even halfway up, or so we were told by the elders, when we were only kits.. whether that was true or not would be proven soon. Asterpaw merrily led the way, each step bouncy and energetic, sometimes I couldn't tell where he got his everlasting energy from. I exhaled, sighing a sigh of relief I didn't know what I was holding when we found a small track, worn and padded down from the generations of cats using it to travel to the moon crystal. " Come on, we're almost there! " Asterpaw trilled, leading the way once more, yet I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread filling in my stomach. Inside the cave was dark, you wouldn't have known anything was in there if you hadn't looked further. We followed the walls of the cave, hoping to find some source of light and when we did.. the moon crystal shone, reflecting from the moonlight that filtered into the cave through a hole in the roof. It was a beautiful, clean, blue shining orb, perched on top of a stack of rocks, with many different gemstones also shining, embedded in the walls of the cave. Oh, it was a sight to see. Asterpaw let out a soft gasp when he saw it, and I couldn't help but gasp as well at the beauty of the cave. We tensed when we heard footsteps approaching from behind us, Asterpaw froze, eye darting towards the direction of the sound, and I turned around to take a closer look. Sure enough, four figures entered the moonlight, and my stomach dropped. Tourmalinestar, Hawthornstar, Prairiestar and Irisstar glared down at us, with looks varying from dissapointment to anger. " You should've known better than to come here. " Hawthornstar snarled, shifting his weight between his paws, large claws scraping at the caves' floor. Within mere seconds, everyone began fighting ' Tourmalinestar! You should have taught your cats better! ' ' Our Sacred rule has been broken! ' ' It is all their fault! ' was all that I could decipher from the loud shouting and arguing from the leaders. And then, Hawthornstar had the pure /audacity/ to claw at Asterpaw's muzzle, because he ' should ha known better ' I let out a furious snarl when I heard the wince coming from my friend as Asterpaw staggered backwards into the rock tower in surprise. By now, all leaders had their claws unsheathed and were furious. The crystal orb fell from it's place, and shattered on the caves' floor. The ear-bleeding sound of the crystal shattering made everyone fall dead-silent. The glow of the moon crystal faded, so did the other gemstones in the cave, and almost all light was gone. ' You idiot! ' I heard one of the leaders roar, as I pawed my way around the cave, " Asterpaw!? " I called, the only light now was from the moon, and even then it was flickering. The last thing I saw before everything was swallowed in darkness was the disappointment look in Tourmalinestar's face as he gazed down at me. The last time I saw his face like that ever again. It started with a blood-curdling scream from Hawthornstar, the dim light started flickering again, and I could barely see it all happen. His form was swallowed by black, he grew larger and larger, eyes turned from blue to pure white, and his pelt was completely pitch-back. He had an extra jaw, long, hooked claws that you would /not/ want to be clawed by even lightly. Multiple ears, an extra set of eyes, it was so overwhelming I had to look away. Next was Prairiestar, one second an ordinary leader, the next an unrecognizable /monster/. Then Irisstar, her grey pelt turned to a moss-greenish grey, her claws grew longer, orange now, her fangs grew, longer, peircing. Orange spikes grew in places you'd never expect and flowers and vines grew around her legs, eyes slitting. Last was Tourmalinestar, his once, energetic amber eyes turned to a life-less, pupilless dull grey. His fur turned to a moss-green, tearing at parts, messy. He grew slimmer, now even bare bone could be seen. He launched at Asterpaw, as if he wasn't even thinking and clawed at his neck. [ cont. ]
Asterpaw let out a shriek of pain, and a gasp escaped from my mouth. My eyes widened in shock and fear, and my fur prickled, paws itching to flee. I reached for Asterpaw, but by then it was too late. He was transforming too, his sparkling yellow eyes faded to a plain grey and he moved as if he was being controlled, his pelt slowly turning moss-green. This was not Asterpaw. Asterpaw quickly flung himself at me, and clawed at my eye. I pushed him off, and without thinking I turned around, and ran, as fast as my legs could carry me, out of the cave and into the moonlight. I ran down the mountain, breathing heavy as I felt my wound tingle, and pelt prickle in unease, whatever they had, was starting to spread to me. I burst into the clearing of the gathering grove, and shouted " Everyone!! We need to leave! Our leaders.. are not like what we remember, they /will/ come. And they will attack! " I yowled, even with my wound for proof, no one believed me. I started to feel groggy, and must have fainted just when the chaos started: They had arrived, and our once leaders attacked, causing chaos to ripple through the grove. Many cats never made it out, but thankfully, someone dragged me back to camp, and a medic quickly tended to my wounds before the herbs died out... It has been 50 moons since the accident. I was eight moons. I'm now 58 moons. I'm no longer Fluffypaw. Now, I'm Torrenstar. And a lot has changed since the accident. The only thing that stayed the same, was the scar that remains, on my eye, a constant reminder of my past. A constant reminder that Starclan is here to punish us. All of us. - - - Hey there! Bored of your boring, average Warrior Cats Roleplay? Join ' Infection Outbreak ' - a thrilling, and unique horror wcrp now! After the accident everything only went downhill. The four clans cut contact with eachother, becoming even more separated than before, and factions rebelling against the current authority took over the clans, as most cats have lost faith in their leaders, and Starclan after the moon crystal broke, making it impossible for anyone to contact Starclan, causing new leaders to only have a singular life and restricting newly dead cats from entering the place of stars, instead turning to zombies to slowly rot away and fade. The zombies aren't the only ones however, there are other monsters, though less common but more dangerous. Will you survive and stop the infection outbreak? Express your interest today in the comments for more information on zombies and other monster variants, as well as a chance this roleplay will come to life. We need at least 20 people to start, ask for pings and express your interest in the comments :D NOTE: The roleplay will be violent, but not very graphic at all, this backstory/lore rp will be the worst of it so yeah and it won't be super horror/scary I just put it in the title as a bit of a warning. Also all the cats who were there to see the accident are either retired or dead except for Torrentstar. spot the (slight) reference in the project for a surprise!
