They are really underrated: Their final form, Electivire, is really popular and has many fans, but the pre- evolutions have less fans, despite being introduced before their final form. Electabuzz still has some fans, but... where are all the Elekid fans? Where? WHERE? Also, the founder of the toy company "Jazwares" posted a post that said that they'll never make an Elekid figure, because parents will be worried because their kiddo will try to plug it in. But in the early 2000s, Pokemon was (kinda) pushing Elekid: they revealed it before gold and silver were officially released, featured it on merchandise such as PokeROM's and Valentine's day cards. But now, i can barely find any Elekid merch. ... Electabuzz is more popular than Elekid, but it still falls into the Unpopular Pokemon category. ...
