Clippy, officially named Clippit, was Microsoft Office's animated paperclip assistant introduced in the late 1990s. People back then usually dubbed it annoying. Today, it is a symbol of protest, that started with/by YouTube Louis Rossman that encouraged people to change their profile pictures to Clippy as a statement AGAINST data mining. Clippy was annoying but it didn't want to harvest/farm your data and personal information, it wanted to help. This movement have been more outwards since YouTube enabled AI Age verification.
