⋙Shroom⋘ Species: Mimikyu Shroom's disguise is based on a Houndour's appearance- it was the first non-Mimikyu Pokémon he encountered and he became fascinated by how different they looked compared to everyone else he'd ever known. Growing up in a secluded community of Mimikyu deep in a forest had meant other Pokémon rarely passed by, so the idea that there were other Pokémon out there so different to his own kind both stunned and fascinated Shroom. The Houndour Shroom saw noticed the Mimikyu (though his appearance was mostly obscured through the foliage) and panicked, leaving her skull mask behind as she bolted- though it was broken by the force of the impact, it is still Shroom's most prized possession, and is used on his disguise. Shroom was quite young when this happened, and he has since forgotten the exact details of the Houndour's appearance, hence the inconsistencies in his disguise. Shroom's favourite weather is the rain- he loves the smell of petrichor, the way the leaves drop heavy droplets of rain in the wind- all of it. As a result, he scarcely takes shelter from the rain and so his disguise has become host to a number of small fungi, such as those on his 'ear' and 'tail'. The disguise itself is worn pretty thin because of all the exploring he likes to do- Shroom lives in fervent hope he'll be able to encounter a Houndour again, something he hasn't done since the first time he saw one. The threadbare hem of his disguise therefore ends up picking up all sorts of forest debris, such as leaves and twigs. Shroom is blissfully unaware that the 'cool stick' he found in the forest and decided to use as a 'tail' in his disguise is actually a Sawsbuck antler (I'm assuming here that occasionally they'll shed their antlers like deer do- nothing bad happened to that Sawsbuck for it to lose its antler, I promise ^^'). Combined with his Houndour disguise (not the friendliest Pokémon) and the skull mask, this ends up making Shroom look really quite intimidating (sort of the opposite of what most Mimikyu go for)- but he seems happy with his disguise, so none of the other Mimikyu have said anything about it. I mostly just used colours directly from the moodboard but I can add the palette if you need btw :>
