TEXT VERSION !! 001 . Hi hi hello! I’m Ember, and I live in the Pacific Timezone. This session will mark my 3rd year of being in SWC and my 10th session! I’ve had a passion for writing and reading for a long time, and at some point, I wanted to write a book about my OC’s! I also like to draw, and I’m very passionate about it. I’ve been dedicated to making OC playlists as well, with one having over 500 songs (yes, I am crazy). Speaking of crazy, I love rhythm games! (Only a few will get this reference, cough cough Yume, Hope, Skylar, Summer, Mildred, Luka, etc... <3) I also love music by artists like Emei, TWICE, KATSEYE, and Vocaloid songs by various artists. Despite being a writer, I’ve never written a piece of poetry until this year. 002 . When it comes to experience related to SWC, I’ve camped for nine sessions. November 2022 in Dystopian was my first, and I’ve been participating ever since. I’ve been a camper every session. I’ve co-led cabins for camps such as Scratch Reading Camp and Scratch Music Camp, and previously led two Scratch Art Camp lodges. I also take on leadership opportunities outside of Scratch! 003 . My top three cabin preferences for this session are Bi-Fi (Bizarro Fiction), Cyberpunk, and Mystery. I would not like to lead TCTWNW as I am a competitive person. Bi-Fi will center around a leader-co “rivalry”. I don’t remember the exact concept I created as I’ve had this one for a while. Cyberpunk revolves around spies from the future, which are the leader and co-leader(s), going back into the past (present day for us, so 2025) for a mission. Apparently, the campers have been chosen to help them, but won’t disclose any information about it until later. For Mystery, please refer to my July application, where I explain the concept of Mystery Mansion! <3 004 . see inside for this one! 005 . My time dedication will vary from day to day depending on what month it is, planning or camp month. I do have a pretty heavy school workload in general, coupled with midterms coming up during the planning month! During the camp month, though, I should be present more often. Expect to see me online less often Monday-Thursday, but online more often Friday-Sunday. If we’re discussing an exact amount of hours, I can estimate about 3 to 4 hours on Monday through Thursday, and 4 to 6 hours Friday through Sunday. This may not be an accurate reflection of my dedication. I do not have any plans for the month of November that conflict with SWC. 006 . I’ve always struggled with time management. I’ve improved greatly by consistently checking my planner and making sure to evenly spread out my workload, though. I do procrastinate and sometimes forget about assignments, but I’m working on that aspect. I’m also good at prioritizing things that will take more time to complete and deciding how urgent certain tasks are. 007 . I’ve struggled with collaboration in the past, but I’m getting better at it. I’ve divided up the workload evenly and communicated well about who is doing what. I am also open to new ideas! I’d describe myself as a good listener, and I can take over any work if I need to if anything sudden comes up with the person or people I’m working with. I’d say my biggest strength is my creativity. One of my shortcomings when it comes to collaboration is my perfectionism, though. I tend to stress out about the small things, and I don’t want it to carry over into my leading experience. I’ll definitely be easier on myself since I don’t want to have any pushbacks with cabin progress. 008 . There are so many reasons why I’m applying for SWC, but two of the main reasons I want to focus on are having a wide variety of creative ideas and a passion for this camp. I want to see how my ideas can come to life through a long-time passion for writing and this camp. 009 . I aim to create a cabin atmosphere that keeps a balance between SMART goal setting and the competitiveness of SWC. (114 characters) (This might change, but it's a general concept. Pretty much realistic goal setting x keeping the competitive aspect we all know and love) 010 . I will be available to fulfill all of the things listed. This includes point adding, sharing a promotional project for SWC, fulfilling leadership responsibilities listed in the FAQ, and being available to step in in the case of an inactive leader or co-leader. I can inform each camper about the situation if the leader or co-leader has informed me privately, and either ask for ownership of the word count studio or create a new one if that isn’t possible.
