what are we some people say kpop rp, some people say music community, whatever. but i miss when that was ALL people said when it came to us. because right now the level of disappointment is high. the current situation has only made me want to speak up more on the underlying issues of this community and what it means for the future and the dying out of this community eventually the fact that we are bashing a child like someone who is genuinely only 12 is baffling to me. yes, what they did is wrong but the reactions and the nasty behavior towards a child (by people who are older than her + should be much more mature by the way) were so inappropriate. yes it is ok to comment on someone making a mistake but it gets to a point where youre literally just cyberbullying a child on a childrens website which leads me to my next point that this is a CHILDRENS WEBSITE. there are KIDS on here, the majority of us are kids. i would like to take comfort in knowing that most people would acknowledge that kids (USUALLY) dont know very much, but ALSO that age doesnt ALWAYS correlate with maturity. so can we just give them a little grace? of course theyre going to use gendered language, especially when the example are REAL LIFE COMPANIES (because this is a ROLEPLAY of the actual INDUSTRY???) who use that kind of language. im not saying that we should normalize that kind of language because it is entirely excluding people, but that when people use it here, its to be expected. because theyre children!!! the way that some of you guys handle situations is so baffling to me. especially because a lot of you mention breaking into the industry and having that dream, but there is absolutely no way that you could have these kinds of attitudes (not to mention sensitivity) and even think of doing that. as someone who has been in professional performing arts spaces, i have been so shocked at the way some of you express how you feel and express your wants, needs, and thoughts. there is ALWAYS a respectful way to do it without being passive. i feel like we constantly talk about popular privilege when it comes to groups & auditions but the social aspect is also a HUGE PROBLEM. why do you guys immediately support a popular idols opinion and shun another for sending the same message and gang up on people that your favs dont like because they cant privately defend themselves. every single time ive had an issue with someone else i took it up with them, not posting projects and drawing attention to it because i cared about ACTUALLY solving the issue. what is the point of getting someone to see your point of view and apologizing when the only way to get them to is to threaten their reputation? something i also recognize is the copying epidemic + the copying calm happening at the same time. why are we literally saying people are copying you for using concept photos of a group with 10 million monthly listeners on spotify that are available to the public? and why are we asking for credits for an ascii symbol that you found on tumblr? and also why are we copying every single thing we see? and its so frustrating to see because youre all SO creative and talented and i know that we can do so much more asking for ideas and help isnt wrong either! going back to my point that this is a kids website. if you want to blow up or be in a more "professional" setting (even tho by definition by most people i see here is a setting where every single thing they "advocate" for happens immediately and they ALWAYS get their way) or have more inclusive spaces, go to spaces that are specifically for that. theres no reason to bully little kids on the internet over small things, THOUGH they can be apart of a larger SOCIETAL issue, it doesnt boil down to a bunch of aspiring young musicians on a small corner of the internet. also why do people keep saying that spop needs to change to include other music genres when thats literally the point of spop? there is an entire fully fledged music community, if you dont like kpop, then leave? the only reason theyre staying is because they benefit from the popularity they have here WHILE constantly complaining and bashing the community. and its like if you REALLY feel that way you would leave but youd rather complain and make other people feel bad than stand on business.
also a reminder that most ents usually + genuinely dont care if youre a girl and audition for their group because its JUST gendered language but usually not ACTUALLY closed off to anyone. literally almost every single ent back in the day used non gendered language unless the group was literally a girl group AFTER debuting, so no this is not a new revolution or anything changing. a lot of companies were a lot more freeform rather than professionalism everywhere than where it ACTUALLY counted. my commentary on nahla + aez drama situation i just find it so funny that people keep reiterating that someone was being 'immature' but the way that the other person handled it was JUST as immature and that yes they were in the wrong but that person at the end of the day is a CHILD and this kind of thing does not warrant that kind of reaction at all. im just so so disappointed in both parties because they're both sweet people being put into negative situations they dont know how to handle. + in the community and what its become since i left the first time this isnt a main social platform. it is a kids coding website. it is not that serious ever. anyways thats pretty much it leave comments please i wanna hear what you think might consider leaving soon aswell or just continuing with my entertainment much love to everyone and hoping that we can all learn and grow - ari
