Hello! I’m _rosies, and today I’ll be covering how to properly advertise ANY type of roleplay, based on my observations! (NOTE: None of this was meant to be offensive! These are just my educated opinions!) ___________________________________________________ ⟡TABLE OF CONTENTS ⟡ -Intro -Convincing advertising VS Ignorable advertising. -The shorter, the better.. right? -What to do and what NOT to do. -Putting it all together. -Outro ﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋ INTRO: When looking for a, for example, fantasy roleplay, it’s LIKELY that you don’t directly search “Fantasy Roleplays”. Instead, you probably look to the various roleplaying advertising studios, where you can find many promising.. well, advertisements. However, creating a CONVINCING advertisement is harder than it looks. And that’s why this little guide will be here to guide you through the steps of CREATING one. ﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋ And that’s where we start. ✨Convincing versus Ignorable roleplay invites. ✨ (or advertisements) From what I’ve seen in some of those roleplay advertising studios, the roleplay ads that are most likely to grab attention are the ones that simply state a persuasive point and/or are relatively short. After all, large groups of people likely aren’t going to know about said roleplay unless you try to convince them in some way! Example? An ignorable invite would probably be very short and unclear, like: “Once upon a time, a kingdom was very powerful. Until everything changed. Join ____RP today!” (Okay, maybe I was being a little exaggerative, but you get the point.) COMPARED to a better example (of that same roleplay concept): “Once there was a very powerful and loved kingdom.. until one devastating event changed everything. Now, the citizens of what used to be the “_____ Kingdom” roam around.. forever changed. Will you be able to find out what happened that faithful day? Join ____ RP now!”. ﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋ At this point, you may have noticed that the shorter example was clearly worse.. right? Well, this isn’t always true. IN FACT, (from what I’ve seen, as always!) sometimes shorter.. more SIMPLE invites grab more RPers. (Probably RPers that are tired and don’t want a long explanation of the RP’s lore.) However, if you make it TOO short, it may come off as amateur or lazy! So how can we avoid this? Instead of: “The Kingdom was very powerful until an event” Change it to: “The Kingdom was very strong in resources until a falling-apart”. It sounds more professional, like you know what you’re doing. It’s also more likely to draw more attention! ﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋ Of course, this may be a bit confusing, so here’s a simple list of what TO DO and what NOT TO DO. DO: -Keep it simple— but not too simple. -State what your RP is mainly about, but don’t give everything away! -Provide a link to the RP in the invite. -Exaggerate a bit! IK it may feel..off. But it’s clickbait 101. ────୨ৎ──── DON’T: -Beg. It sounds very desperate, and doesn’t really help the RP. -STATE that the RP is almost dead or remade in the advertisement. (If so) -Make it TOO long. Everything’s better in moderation. -Repost the invite more than three-four times in the same studio! RPers (like myself) can find this really obnoxious! ﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋ So.. what can we learn from this? When creating a RP invite (ad),it’s HIGHLY important to include a main reason, short summary, and LINK. (Please, my dear RPers. Don’t forget the link!) Just for reference, to add the link, you’d have to go to the STUDIO or PROJECT you’re advertising, tap the URL and copy it. Then paste it in your invite! Have fun creating an advertisement! ♡ ﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋ OUTRO: In the end, I can’t really PREDICT how successful the invite will be, but I CAN give you these observations to use at your own will. Of course, I’d recommend THIS RP advertising studio: For those who are interested in an active place to promote their RP! NOTE: Most of these methods are intended for roleplaying studios, since I see a lot of people using them. (END) ﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋ Curious about terms I used, or want to learn more?
