Length: 65:40 Genre: Electronic On the second week of November, 2004, cities around the world heard strange music and rainbow lights faintly emanating from the sky. Then, descending from the clouds, revealed the source of the sounds and rainbow lights: flying gray dots. Then the dots became bigger and bigger, until the shape of them was visible: flying gray saucers. But the aliens were not the stereotypical "gray". They were small, rotund, and cute. Their spaceships--which seemed to be sentient creatures as well--were small, enough to fit only one or two of them. And it seems they were as surprised to learn that there was life on this planet as we were surprised that there was life outside of it. The reason for their visitation is unknown, but it seems that fortunately these aliens were not hostile. The cuteness of their appearance was reflected in their personalities--they were joyful, fun-loving creatures. Sometimes they would even dismount their ships and attempt to converse with humans, although it was clear that they were still learning human languages. But they were also a little mischievous. They would fly around in their ships playing their strange music very loudly, even late at night to the dismay of people trying to sleep, and they would also steal goods from restaurants and stores (although this is probably because they did not have much else to eat). On the last day of their occupancy, several of them made a stop to music stores around the world a a CD jewel case. They would approach one of the staff members, saying that they have brought a gift to us humans. This CD contained an album titled "Unusual Flying Orchestra", by a "pkhead" - whether or not this is an individual or group is unknown. From several accounts, while the case did contain a CD inside, the case itself was able to play the music, using a technology that human scientists have yet to decipher. On the art of the back cover were symbols of a play, previous, and next button, and when tapped (while the CD was inside, of course), music from the disk would emanate from the case and the art on the back cover would change accordingly. There was also a small paper note located inside the case, which read verbatim: hello Humans!. sorry we have to leave... but we made this album for you. your one of the few species we met that like music, too!. and we even have the same ideas for music. frequencies 12 equally-spaced divisions over powers of two. I think that's cool!. we decided to make music that's like our music but with you music. like it sounds like human music. anyway.. we hope we can meet each other again later!. hopefully... i don't know if we will be able to.. This project contains the music in the CD as well as an imitation of the case the CD was packaged in. Anyway, the first song i made was extraterrestrial boogie, which is an extended version of "ancirated". i listened to ancirated a while after making it and i thought, "you know i really like this. it kind of gives off like Cute alien vibes. or something. hm... What if i made an entire album out of this sound. That would be so cool." the audio is a bit compressed to optimize space; it is encoded with LAME over ffmpeg using these arguments: -codec:a libmp3lame -qscale:a 5 and track 15 uses qscale 6 to get it under the 10 MB limit. I mention all of this because i notice artifacts while listening to the mp3s.
