Peafowl is an eccentric and wealthy woman who grew enamored with a man, attracting him with displays of wealth and gifts until finally marrying. Once married, though, she grew tired of him, and finding she could not divorce him, as it would become a scandal and the talk of the town, she began to look into more permanent solutions. She learned the art of poisons carefully, over several months, and eventually used them. In doing so, she became infatuated again, this time with the assassin who taught her how to kill.
