When the civil war resulting in the downfall of the RDLFR ended, the new Escuasian Government decided to focus less about the colonies to focus on trying to bring peace to the west back home. Scarsland in Kazdario decides to remain a satellite state of Escuasia, Southern Aufani and the Sumari Islands remain loyal to Escuasia. however, the Redlandish Cardinal Islands decided to split from Escuasia entirely. They form an independent state with a Liberal-Republican Government, and called themselves the Republic of Cardinium. Many consider it the RDLFR’s last stronghold. They would be separated from Redlandish influence for a very long time. And, because they started focusing more on the behalf of their survival, Cardinian people started switching from Modern Redlandish Culture (which is majorly influenced by Basurian Culture) to classical Redlandish Culture. And they would be fine with that. However, a good majority of people in Cardinia were immigrants from Basuria itself when it was occupied by the RDLFR, and these people refused to convert. Overtime, tensions would rise between the 2 groups because of their differences and beliefs. The Basurians mostly lived in the southeast and by the east coast of the lake, while the rest remained Redlandish. Rumors say that history would repeat itself like it did in Redland and Cardinia would have it’s own major split. However the future is currently unknown.
