Mudwings ⚝━━━━━━━ - Mudwings designs are based off of cows and crocodiles - Largest tribe, lots and lots of tiny villages with sibs. - Depending where you are, sib groups are either called Packs, Troops, or Warrens. - Houses are built by sibs, everyone kinda just knows how to build them - Deepest voices in the tribes - Mudwings are jacks of many trades, as groups they replicate other sibs groups talents - They are by far the most welcoming tribe to friendly outsiders, but are also extremely territorial against any hostile dragon trying to take land - Cuisine is huge in the Mud kingdom, especially in providences around the castle. Leftovers are found to be rude to the chef, so dragons often share any. - Feasts happen often, and whole tribe feasts happen biannually, and are also used to get a census of the tribe. - They sleep a lot, and have very relaxed lives. - Information takes a long time to travel through the entire tribe because it’s so big and spread out. - Visitors are common to try Mudwing cuisine, especially from Sandwings and Skywings from cramped cities. - They may be the biggest tribe physically but they are also very short. - Their coloration or brown depends on the area they live in, an example being they may have a greenish brown color if they are near the rainforest. - Bigwings have the tail club seen in the photo. - Red eggs have more red wings. ━━━━━━━⚝ III. Sandwings ⚝━━━━━━━ - Sandwings designs are based off adders and other desert snakes. - There are very little Sandwing settlement, all cities are are around oasis’s. - Marketplaces are sacred to Sandwings, they are huge and one could find anything in there, and easily get lost. - Crime is very prevalent because of the lack of food in the cities. The population of the Sandwings are much smaller than the Mudwings. - Sandwing settlements are most active at dusk and dawn. - Clothing is very popular, with fabric shawls and scarves being very popular. They all come in very bright colors and interesting patterning. - Sandwings may not be as good at spices and cuisine as the Mudwings, but they are known for their heavy hand in salt and spicy pepper on there food. - The city is an absolute eyesore with bright tapestries, lanterns, and murals everywhere. - Cloth other than decoration on housing is also used as cover for sandstorms. Often valuables are hidden underground in houses. Most richer houses are located underground. - Sandwings often have a wide stance, with their feet spread. - Sandwings born without the barb often have really sharp tail points. - Sandwings are small but just have really long limbs to make up for it. ━━━━━━━⚝ XI. Skywings ⚝━━━━━━━ - Skywings designs are based off eagles and mountain birds. - Skywings have the most advanced and impressive architecture. Kinda like Grecco-Roman stuff. - They show off their wealth by using rare and shiny materials for housing. - They have social classes just like the Icewings, but more loose. Dragons can climb the ranks by marriage, birthright or fighting. - Gladiators are usually either nobles looking for attention or desperate peasants looking for money. - The higher up the ranks, the more dragons like those special games of chance. - GLORY GLORY WHAT A HECK OF A WAY TO DI3 - Power = Wealth, respect, scars, and how many dragons know you. - Poly relationships are common ✨ScANdaLoUs✨ - Skywing cuisine is almost exclusively carnivorous, with raw steak covered in oil and salts being a delicacy. - The shinier and more the jewelers they wear the better. - Strength is valued over beauty as attractive. - Artists are looked down upon, but nobles pay good money for paintings. - Nobles are split into houses, with the royal house being one of them. The type of bird feather a dragon has often signifies house type. - If a soldier can’t fight or is significantly weakened they are forcefully removed from the army. - A more beak like snout is a recessive trait. - Skywing bones are partly hallow, making them slightly easier to break. They also have a very high metabolism. - Some Skywings are born without front legs as it’s a recessive trait, but they can oftenuse their wings as legs. ⇢ ˗ˏˋ Please continue to the next section!
━━━━━━━⚝ X. Seawings ⚝━━━━━━━ - Seawings designs are based off sharks. - Seawings don’t really have any access to the outdoor world. They don’t really know or care about what’s happening. - They are the most docile and law-abiding of the tribes. - They adore stories, and are the top writers of books. They are more into fantasy than any other tribe. - Seawings have very colorful tiles and mosaics. - They looooove natural aesthetics and save little bits of things for their homes. - They are really into piercings, especially for their fins. - They have the largest military, but rarely actually use it. - They again are split into houses, but everyone belongs to a certain house, and each has a representative on the queens council. They are by far the closest to democracy. - Seawings tend to focus on one job, and follow that job for their lifespan. Apprenticeships are common. - Seawings can have more colors if they're born near the shore/corals. Some born on the coast have tan, and some born near the mud kingdom have brown. - The deeper in the ocean they are born, the darker the colors they have and the brighter their glow scales become. If born too deep they will be blinded by bright light and be hardly able to walk on land. - Seawing also have very high metabolism. - They hate cooked food. - They have semi-transparent blood in all except their bioluminescent scales, which bleed like glow-sticks. (This char was not made with bio scales bc char design) ━━━━━━━⚝ XI. Rainwings ⚝━━━━━━━ - Rainwings designs are based off of rainforest birds. - Rainwings are very into eating and carving fruits, and have lost all other sense of cooking. They are mainly herbivores but also eat bugs. - Dancing and music are big in the kingdom, but most music being string and wind orchestras. - They love friendly competition. Dancing is a favorite. - Gradients are a favorite color combo for scale patterns. - Rainwing dancing is a combination of movement and color. Swirling color patterns accompany fancy foot and tail work. - Rainwings are vain, and use flowers and colorful plants as cosmetics. You are the talk of the village if you found and draped yourself in a new undiscovered flower. - They are very advanced in medicines - They are naturally pretty weak. - Everything they learn is oral, and only recently is any Rainwing knowledge being written down. - If it’s small and fluffy the Rainwing will take it. - They have very soft and velvety scales. - Most Rainwings avoid the forest floor as much as possible. ━━━━━━━⚝ XII. Icewings ⚝━━━━━━━ - Icewings designs are based off polar bears and narwhals. - Icewing nobles in the palace despise those of the outer rings, calling them Snowwings for their much softer demeanor. - Snowwings embrace the name. They have also had many generations in one place, without much contact in the frozen north to anyone but the Icewings. The elders remember the other tribes, but that information is not well passed down. - Icewings make everything hard on themselves to look tough, sleeping on hard ice floors, spending hours polishing their scales, not seasoning food, ect. - Snowwings seasoned food and it blows young Icewing’s minds. - Snowwings homes are often made of pine, and their little village all they’ve ever really known. - Icewings pretend Snowwings don’t exist. - Icewing nobles love opera. - Cold beauty, manners and suffering is everything to the Icewings. - If Icewings polish their scales enough they can become almost mirror-like. - The more monotone and neutral-colored a dragons scales, the better in the Ice kingdoms. - Melanistic Snowwings are more common than normal as they are shunned by the Icewings as bad luck. Either they live in a Snowwings village or leave altogether. - IceWings can’t actually swim, but they have a lot of blubber to stay warm which also makes them float. ━━━━━━━⚝ XIII. Nightwing ⚝━━━━━━━ - Nightwings designs are based off cats and bats, (post-volcano headcanons) - They are rebuilding their old home and have their own queen. - Sculpture and architecture are a big thing for Nightwings. Artists are very respected. - They are the most advanced in mathematics and sciences. - Theater is actually a big thing, with things like the dragonets play in the beginning common. Historical plays are often big. - They put a lot of their time into studying the other tribes and documenting them. There’s probably more documentation of the other tribes by Nightwings than by those tribes themselves. Nightwings themselves often leave out documentation of their own tribe. - Education is very important to them. - They are trying their best to replicate Mudwing cuisine with the rainforest plants. - Intelligence is attractive to them. - They are majorly introverted and non-violent. - They are not very vain. - They have darker underbellies to avoid notice when flying. - Nightwings are crazy superstitious. - Albino Nightwings are again, shunned and exiled. ⇢ ˗ˏˋ Please continue in part 2!
