PLEASE DON'T ADVERTISE! I HAVE AN IDEA (please read) So recently I've been thinking of writing a book. Sci-Fi specifically. Now, I'm too lazy to think up planets and local governments and stuff, but I had an idea: Get people to make planets FOR me!!!! (don't worry, I'll give you credit!) Remix this project and put your planet design on it, then post the link in comments! It would be best if your planet included some sort of signature technology, a realistic government, and either a human or non-human occupation on the planet. (They wouldn't be aliens because WE'D be the aliens if we were on their planet) If you really want to go above and beyond, you could even design an ecosystem for your planet! (include art if you want) Creating a planet 101: 1. Remix the project. 2. Delete everything, and change the name of the project to the name of your planet. 3. You choose! Make a slideshow-style project to showcase your planet, or just edit the background with text. Be sure to include a race, a style of government (if your planet has advanced enough to have a government) and, if you want, a drawn image of your planet. You could even add an ecosystem! 4. Post the link in comments. I'll try to look at every planet! Now, I know that a lot of you (yes you) love roleplaying. That's cool and all, but that also means I have to set some ground rules: 1. No utopias! If a world is perfect, then a world is boring. Feel free to make your world as crime-ridden and depressing as possible. Of course, you can make a utopia that's the ILLUSION of a utopia but actually has a lot of problems (those are cool to write about). 2. No superpowered unstoppable war machine type things. I'm not looking for a "Planet Bob: We have a Bob laser that forms power and can vaporize planets with a push of a button, and is surrounded by an impenetrable shield." Remember that galactic superpowers CAN exist, but remember that even the most powerful system has a weakness. 3. You can add lore to your planets' backstory, but you can't influence the present. Like, you can say that your planet was a nuclear war zone between two rival militias for the past century, but you can't say "My planet is going to blow up <name>'s planet because I hate them and they're stupid". 4. The sky's not the limit! You can have a space faring civilization, or one that's content at staying on its home planet. You can have space stations, multi-galactical corporations, and death lasers. Just make sure the death lasers aren't TOO powerful (see rule 2). Organizations (galactic government, etc.) UR United Reaches The United Reaches is the former superpowers of old Earth combined into one government. GCorps Gravity Corporations The Gravity Corporations owns a lot of the mass-production factories in the galaxy. They make the SGT (Standard Galactic Technology). BRKRZ Militia This militia is the wild card of the galaxy, commanding an enormous army. They can be your enemy, or your friend, depending on how deep your pockets are. GCF Galactic Cartography Foundation Their goal is to identify and explore every planet reachable via Shatterdrive. They are responsible for finding many of the habitable planets that people live on today. Base Technology (this is the Standard Galactic Technology that everybody uses and everybody has access to.) Greenboxes It's a phone, basically. Untraceable. (When I say untraceable, I mean it. You can't make a planet/organization that can track or tap these) Shatterdrive It's a FTL (faster than light) engine that allows you to jump through space and time, though the time feature is highly illegal and most of the time results in unintended repercussions, including space-time disturbance, wormholes, and people getting lost in alternate timelines because they changed something that had repercussions. Hyperbreaker It makes wormholes, though you can't control where and when they come out unless you have a Hyperstructor bound to its specific coordinates. Hyperstructor The exit end of a Hypershatter's wormhole. More reliable than Shatterdrives, though they require a LOT of energy to keep open. MediDrone The ambulances of the universe. Controlled by the first sentient AI that the UR created, which went rogue almost immediately. The MediDrones and their puppeteer do not take sides, and give medical care to anybody they find. They are mostly the reason why the UR banned creating modular AI (AI that resides between multiple nodes that communicates using FTL Shatterdrives that can self-repair, rendering it nearly immortal unless you destroy all of the nodes.), and requiring intense software restrictions to AIs to prevent them from becoming modular. If you scrolled down here immediately, you won't know anything about this. Ha!! If you did read it, though, I hope you make a planet or a group or a space station or something :) If you have any questions, put them in the comments section. Thank you!
Idea by me, @CowInABoat PEOPLE WHO MADE PLANETS/GROUPS: @YomamaDeSecond @GhostedFlame PEOPLE WHOSE PLANETS/GROUPS WERE ACCEPTED: @YomamaDeSecond @GhostedFlame PLANETS: Greob, the toxic mystery: Greob is a grade-five toxic planet filled with many species of fungi. very little is known about Greob. It contains no intelligent lifeforms living on the planet. many people have tried to explore Greob, most expeditions end from the toxic atmosphere, while others are unable to go through because of the intense atmospheric pressure; almost five hundred times the pressure of Earth's! Greob still remains a mostly uncharted planet to this day, even as the GCF attempts to explore it. Glynack, the lonely orbit: Glynack is a rogue star-orbiting space station mostly cut off from the galaxy, as their home is not connected to any planets. They live around a dim red dwarf star, which provides the heat and energy necessary to survive. The native citizens are Corwbatds, who are the vessels of a strangely democratic hive mind governed by multiple consciousnesses.
